Elsewhere…
His body was ready to give up but all he could do was climb the stairs of the home which he had built when he had the time, the same one he had drawn out. It was near ‘the springs’ the batch came to it.
“Mama?”
“I’m sorry…I can’t….”
“Rest Mama….he’s here…”
Crosshair barely heard his son's next words as his vision went dark and his body slumped forward, a cry from his son was left in his hearing followed by a muffled voice that he couldn’t work out.
“Dammit Caspian! You promised, you would care for yourself. Damn, you, little brother”
A Couple of Days Later….
The sounds of an engine had the older brother of Caspian on the edge. He continued to watch from his place on the porch of the house as the familiar ship belonging to the Havok Marauder landed beside the forest. He knew one thing, they would have company and for once, he didn't know whether he wanted to punch them or shake their hands. He was definitely striding towards the first answer especially when he caught the footsteps of what sounded like a child running towards the house.
Not even ten minutes later, a blond popped out of the dark forest and ran straight for the house. She was followed by four others, those of which were in armour. The leader of the batch, he knew as Hunter, stopped seeing the intimidated figure who was clearly as tall as Wrecker and had his arms crossed tightly on his chest.
"Omega stop" Hunter ordered when the blond was about to take a step up the stairs.
"Why? It's only mother's brother" Omega exclaimed, she smiled at the man who nodded at her, she continued past him with permission and entered the house.
"Omega, wait…" Echo's words were lost to her as she disappeared into the house and soon found her mother in an unconscious state, she was instantly climbing into the bed. Ignoring the little boy asleep, she placed a hand against his cheek and felt the small pulse under her mother's skin. It took a while but Crosshairs eyes blinked open as he smiled at her before they shut again and she snuggled in close.
Meanwhile outside…
"Introduce yourselves, in age order”
The batch had no choice but to comply.
"I'm Echo"
"Hunter"
"I'm Wrecker"
"Tech"
The man nodded tilting his head as he observed them, "The name is Dalton but I went by Commander Doom in disguise. Now, one question before you enter the house. What's your intentions with my baby brother?" His words were straight to the point and protective. Echo was shocked to learn that this was the fierce Commander Doom.
His stare had the batch shivering as they all knew this was an individual question, an answer the older man was after was what they all individually seemed not what they thought it was.
“I want to love him but not as a friend, as the mother of my children. My best-friend needs a home built on love and safety and I want to be the one to give that to him” Tech spoke up first, his words said in a calm tone and he could only watch as Doom nodded, his hand gesturing to the house. Tech smiled, however he didn't move which only made Doom say, “I approve, you may enter”.
Only then did Tech walk past Doom and enter the house. He knew Doom was watching him so he only entered the living room almost like waiting for permission from Doom who knew one thing. At least the engineer of the group understood what he meant when he gestured for them to enter the house.
