Keira's POV
Today is my first training session since my injury. We were all in the dressing room, ready to get back on the pitch. Lucy was sitting opposite me, busy talking to Steph. I could tell they were talking about something, but I was too focused on Lucy to really listen. After a few minutes, we all started getting ready for training. When Lucy took off her t-shirt and put on her training shirt, time seemed to stand still for a moment. I couldn't help but look at her, at her muscular arms and her toned stomach. She was breathtaking.
In my trance, I didn't even notice that Georgia had come to sit next to me. It was only when she pushed my chin up that I was brought out of my daydream. "Kei, your chin was almost on the floor. Take your eyes off her and get dressed," she said with a chuckle.
I looked at her and felt the blush on my cheeks. Lucy was like a dream, a vision of perfection that I could hardly take my eyes off.

Training went smoothly. I felt no pain at all and was overjoyed to be back on the pitch. It felt like coming home after being away for a long time.
When it was time to train in pairs, Lucy came straight to me. "Kei, fancy going with me?" Her smile was infectious, and I couldn't help but smile back. "Yeah, sure."
Behind me, I heard Georgia pass and whisper, "See that your mouth is no longer hanging open." I felt heat rise to my cheeks as I realised that I had probably been staring at Lucy too showily.
"What did G say to make you blush like that, Kei?" asked Lucy, looking at me with a teasing expression. I did not want to admit that I had been staring at her, so I quickly replied, "Come Luce, we are here to play football, not to know each other's private lives."
Lucy let out a dramatic sigh. "'Come oooon Kei, I'm your roomie, I'm allowed to know, right?" Her playful tone made me smile. "Come Bronzey," I said as I challenged her. Sometimes Lucy was like a little kid, but I couldn't deny that I loved that side of her.
After training, our captain came to me with a proposal. "To celebrate your return, me and Lucy thought we'd throw a party at my place. We have a day off tomorrow anyway, so it's the perfect timing."
"Is good. Thanks for the idea," I replied, excited by the prospect of relaxing with my teammates.
Once home, Lucy and I got ready for the party. Coming out of the bathroom, I saw that Lucy was wearing beige cargo trousers with a white T-shirt and a green hoodie, and she had her glasses on. My God those glasses make her look 100 times more attractive. For the second time that day, I stared but this time she caught me.
"Are you enjoying the view?" she teased me with a grin.
"You don't look bad, Luce," I replied honestly, admiring her outfit.
"Well, I don't compare to you, Kei. You look beautiful," she said. I couldn't help but smile at her compliment.
Lucy's POV
The party was already in full swing when we finally arrived. Steph greeted us at the door with a smile. "Girls, you are finally here," she said enthusiastically."Yes sorry, someone was too busy staring at me," I teased Keira as she blushed and made her way among our partying teammates. I couldn't help but smile as I followed her.
Moments later, Keira returned with a glass of red wine for me. "Thank you, but I can't drink too much since I'm the one driving," I said as I took the glass.
"Come on Luce, one glass," Keira urged, but I shook my head.
After about an hour, I watched Keira go completely wild to the music while I just sat staring and smiling at her. I didn't feel comfortable being the centre of attention, so I took a seat on the sofa. I was talking to Jill and Steph when Keira came over to us and grabbed my hands.
"Come on Luce, come dance with me," she begged me. I protested, but she insisted. "We see you are starting to get old, Luce," she teased.
"'Okay, it's fine, I'll come with you,' I finally admitted, on the condition that she wouldn't let me dance for too long.
Just as we were on the dance floor, I saw Steph put on a slow. When she saw me looking at her, she just winked. I looked at Keira and hesitated for a moment, but when she put her hands around my neck, I relaxed and put my hands on her waist.
Some teammates looked at us, but at that moment I didn't care. The world around us seemed to fade away as Keira pulled me closer to her. Her face was only a few millimetres from mine, and I could feel her breath against my lips. I wished this moment would never end.
As we stood on the dance floor, we looked deep into each other's eyes. The world around us seemed to fade away, and it was as if it was just Keira and I who were there. She broke the intense eye contact by putting her head in the crook of my neck. Her scent filled my senses, her hands around my neck and her warm body against mine felt so familiar.
When the song finally came to an end, I looked at her. A smile played around her lips, and we said nothing, but just kept looking at each other. My eyes flashed back and forth between her eyes and her lips. I felt a strong urge to kiss her now, to finally express my feelings for her.
I looked into her eyes again, searching for doubt or uncertainty, but saw only desire and surrender. That was all I needed to clear away the last doubts. Slowly, I bent my face to hers, the distance between our lips narrowing with every millimetre.
But nothing could have prepared me for what was about to happen...
