Lucy's POV
Just when our lips almost touched, Keira was suddenly pulled away by a blonde girl. "Leah, what are you doing here?" asked Keira, surprised at her sudden appearance.

"G told me about the party. You didn't think I would miss this, did you?" replied Leah with a smile.

While Leah took Keira back to the dance floor, I went back to the couch and tried to organise my thoughts. Who was this blonde girl? Why did she know Keira? And why had she pulled us apart at such a crucial moment?

My head was spinning with questions, but I had no answers. It felt like an unwanted interruption to a moment that seemed promising, and I could only hope that I would soon discover more about Leah and her relationship with Keira.

I made my way to Steph, who was still DJing. "Who is that blonde dancing with Keira?" I asked curiously.

"Leah Williamson, she plays for Arsenal," Steph replied without hesitation. "Are you maybe a little bit jealous, Lucy Bronze?" she added with a teasing smile.

I was momentarily surprised by her comment. "Why? Is there a reason to be jealous?" I asked, trying to control my emotions.

"I don't know, Lucy. All I know is that they grew up together and have always been close," Steph explained. "You can't control who Keira falls in love with. Don't forget that she is still a child."

"I know, but I can't ignore that there is something between us," I muttered, my mind now overwhelmed by confusion and uncertainty. "We flirt all the time, we do everything together, we sleep in the same bed and she wears my clothes."

"Maybe you should just talk to her then. Those two would make a cute couple, wouldn't they?" suggested Steph with a smile.

In that moment, I could do nothing but remain silent, lost in my own thoughts and feelings. The complexity of my relationship with Keira seemed to overwhelm me, and I wasn't sure how to deal with it.

All evening I couldn't help but watch the two dancing girls. Steph was right. I couldn't force Keira to like me, but oh, how much I wanted to. I had never had such feelings for a girl before. As I continued to overthink, I suddenly felt Keira's lips on my forehead.

"Are you all right, Luce? You seem a bit distracted," she asked worriedly.

"I feel a bit nauseous, maybe because of the drink," I lied, knowing it wasn't just the drink that upset me.

"Come on, Luce, one glass of wine won't suddenly cause nausea. Are you sure there is nothing else going on?" she asked as she came to sit on my lap and put her hand on my forehead.

I savored her closeness before I could answer. "I think I-" But I was abruptly interrupted by the blonde, who had clearly already drunk a few glasses too many.

"Come on, Kei, come dance!" she exclaimed, her voice loud and shrill. My heart stopped beating when I heard Leah use my nickname for Keira. I was the only one who called her that, the only one who had that right.

Keira stopped looking at me and ran to the girl. I couldn't stand it any longer. I felt I needed some alcohol to clear my mind. I walked to the kitchen and poured myself a glass of vodka, which I immediately knocked back. When I turned around, I saw her standing there: Leah. For a moment, I thought the alcohol was starting to kick in, but it was real.

"You are Lucy Bronze, right?" she asked.

"Mhm," I muttered briefly.

"'Nice to meet you, I'm Leah,' she said, holding out her hand, but I ignored the gesture.
