Keira's POV
I sat next to Lucy on the sofa as we watched a film on Disney+ together. It felt strange not being under the same blanket and not cuddling, but I was already happy to have Lucy back. we were always together. Where Lucy was, I was, and where I was, Lucy was too.

I liked being alone, but this made me realise how special Lucy was to me. Because for the first time, I preferred the company of someone other than my own.

In the dark living room, illuminated by the television screen, I noticed how Lucy slowly began to close her eyes. "Luce, wouldn't you be better off going to bed?"

Lucy seemed to hesitate and replied, "I'll sleep on the sofa, you can take the bedroom."

I was in shock for a moment. "Luce, it's your room, so it's your bed too."

"But Kei, surely I can't ask you to sleep on the sofa."

I did not hesitate and replied firmly, "Who says anyone has to sleep on the sofa?"

Lucy hesitated as she replied, "Are you sure? I don't want to go too fast either."

I suppressed a small laugh and replied firmly, "Luce, we agreed that we want it like before. So we have to live like before. Of course it will take time, but that's okay."

With these reassuring words, we went upstairs. We changed clothes and got into bed. I switched off the light and turned on my side. After a while, I heard Lucy turn towards me and say, "Sorry for everything."

I turned so I was looking straight at Lucy, even though we couldn't see each other's faces, and spoke, "Luce, we both screwed up. We both should have communicated how we felt and we didn't."

Lucy sighed and replied, "I know, but I'm the adult here and I'm supposed to protect you. Instead, I made it all worse."

I did not reply, but simply leaned forward. I placed a gentle kiss on Lucy's neck and then laid my head on her chest. After a while, I heard Lucy's breathing calm down, and a moment later I fell into a deep sleep.

Lucy's POV:
Slowly, the sound of whistling birds woke me up. I rolled over, hoping to find Keira next to me, but felt nothing. Was I dreaming all this? Just then I heard a loud thump and Keira's voice swearing "Fuck!". I shot awake immediately, made no effort to get dressed and ran downstairs. In my sports bra and shorts, I entered the kitchen.

There I saw Keira standing with flour on her head, and the entire kitchen floor was full, including Narla. Keira turned around when she heard me laughing and looked at me with a deadpan expression. I could only laugh and said, "Good morning, I see you already have a special morning." Keira did not reply and threw the rest of the flower at me, making her laugh too. "Welcome to my world, Lucia."

God, how I had missed this. I had missed her. I had missed having a Keira Walsh in my house. "Sorry about the mess, Luce. I wanted to make pancakes but I was too small to get the flour, you can guess the rest." I couldn't help but smile. Even now, with flour in her hair and on her face, she still looked perfect.

"Kei, why didn't you just wake me up? Then I could have helped you." Keira poked me and said, "I didn't want to increase your ego. Otherwise you would have spent a whole week saying I would be nothing without you." I laughed. "Yeah, okay, you're kind of right about that."

"I'm always right, Luce." And just at that moment I happened to cough.

After cleaning up all the mess and getting ready, we headed to City's training ground. When we arrived in the dressing room, Demi immediately rushed over and hugged me. "Oh my god, Lucy. You're finally back!" I furrowed my eyebrows and replied, a little confused, "Demi, I've only been absent for one day. That doesn't immediately mean I'm dead, does it?"

"I know, Lucy, but we're not used to you being so sick that you don't come to training," Demi said worriedly. I opened my mouth to reply, but felt the pressure of Keira's hand on my arm. "Oh yeah, right, I was sick," I muttered, giving Keira a grateful look. Demi then looked at me with concern and asked, "Are you sure you're better yet?"

I looked smiling at Keira and replied with a confident tone, "Everything is fine. I've never felt better."

The training went smoothly. It was a quiet session, filled with laughter and fun. Together with Keira, I walked towards the dressing room, but our captain called me aside for a moment. Keira looked at me and said, "Go ahead, I'll wait by the car." I nodded at her and made my way to Steph. A feeling of anxiety crept up on me, but when I saw Steph smiling, I felt a burden fall from my shoulders.

"I see you two have made up?" Steph began, looking at me encouragingly. "Listen, I'm very happy for you and I know I shouldn't interfere with your private lives."

I interrupted her with a smile. "But you're going to do it anyway."

"I have to, Lucy," Steph continued seriously. "I don't want this to happen again. You are footballers. Whatever happens between you should not affect your performance on the pitch. I hope you know that?"

I looked at the ground and nodded in agreement. "That won't happen again, Steph."

When I turned to leave, she stopped me. "Please ask her out. It is abundantly clear that you can't live without each other and that you are made for each other."

Her comment made me blush, and Steph started laughing. "And that's proof," she added, making me feel even redder.
