  "Your mothers gonna be working here"

It had now been a few weeks after the merger..some stayed rivals..some began to form small friendships? The orange was out and everyone was now a blue scrub, you could say it was more peaceful.

Charlie started out her morning in the ER, mainly stitching peoples heads, you wouldn't believe how many people need their head stitched. "Okay sir all done, see? Not that bad huh and now you get to walk round saying you got five stitches In your head..pretty cool?" She said with a smile, if anything she always made sure to be kind with her patients, that's one reason she didn't mind doing needles or stitches sometimes, because she just got to chat with the patient and distract them from the pain.

"Is it gonna leave a scar?, my wife doesn't like them..she says they look to violent" The old man would explain, as Charlie was putting the non sterile stuff in the bin, taking off her gloves. "It's only small so I don't think it should scar, and I'm pretty good at stitches so I'm sure your wife won't even notice" she replied, giving him a discharge form with her kind smile and walking over to the nurses desk where she saw dr karev.

"my hands are starting to cramp I've done so many stitches..?" She would said a slight sigh, looking next to her at cowboy karev she had coined that nickname last week just to annoy him..although she regretted it because it's kind of a cool nickname and his for her was just short ass. "Eh I got to scrub in on abdominal Tumour this morning, feeling pretty good?"

"you don't have to rub it in? I wanna a surgery so bad I will literally fist fight someone." Which got a slightly shocked face from Alex, before her hit her shoulder in a jokey way.
"Short ass, you couldn't fight a squirrel and win? Let alone a surgeon..although I heard Dr Torres was doing a pretty cool surgery later? Could be to do with building a leg back together?"

"Wait really!? I want it- hold up why are you telling me this..and not stealing it for yourself?" She says accusing him of tricking her, which was totally plausible.
"She doesn't want me on the case, thinks I'm to good? Although she might let you help" he explained..even thought the being too good part was not the truth. "Look short ass, I've know you what 4 weeks? You need to get some game, you ain't getting any surgery because your to nice, you take everyone's garbage jobs, like doing stitches in the ER all morning" Karev said, before giving her a small pat on the back walking away.

Suddenly before Charlie could go talk to Dr Torres about getting in on that surgery..she got paged "god I don't belive in you but, my friend April does? So please don't make this another patient needing stiches" she said, although as she looked at her pager, the page was to the lobby? And so Charlie ran off to the lobby wondering what the heck this could be.

As she got to the lobby she would look around...no one...but then she caught her eyes on her mother? Dr Diane madden - Avery. And she appeared to be talking to Dr Derek Shepard. Charlie quickly hid behind a wall, Hoping her mother didn't see her? She didn't, but Dr Bailey saw her

"Avery...why are you standing behind a wall? Get back to work." Bailey said In a serious tone giving her the look the, look was pretty serious "uh dr Bailey..I got paged here? My mother is the one talking to the chief..." Charlie said quite shy, she didn't wanna admit her mother scared her sometimes.
"I haven't got time for this? Just go see your mother and then get back to work, I need you in the pit got it?" Dr Bailey would announce before swiftly leaving.

Charlie would collect her self before walking out behind the wall, and over to her mother and the chief.

"Ah here she is, Dr Avery your mothers in town, infact your mothers gonna be working here" Mcdreamy aka the cheif would explain "your mother seems wonderful Charlie and I'd love to give the tour myself, but you know chiefs always busy." He said with his dumb dreamy smile, before leaving her alone with her mother.

"Charlotte stand up straight, your professional yes? Look like it for once" her mother would quite rudely snap at her, causing Charlotte to stand up straight. "Why are you applying to work here..? Don't you wanna be with dad?" She asked acting like a small child that's how she felt around her mother. "Me and your father are having a break from eachother- quite frankly I can't stand him right now..and of course when I found out my baby was in Seattle, I called for a job straight away, I don't know why that man didn't tell you but I already have the job." Charlotte went blank for a moment not knowing what to say. "Oh...congratulations? That's great mom.."

Her mother would sight at her "look i know you came here to have fun? And make friends. But trust me when I say that's over, you will be the best surgeon in this hospital if I have to force it or not" but who was she kidding, she was obviously gonna force it "now hurry up, give me this tour I'm bored of watching your sad little face try not cry."

And so 20 minutes later the tour was over...thank god I won't bore you with the details. Charlotte and her mother were now sat in the canteen eating lunch.

"No your not eating that?" Her mother snapped before taking her burger and giving her a small salad. "Mom?- look I wanna sit over there with the other interns, like just give me five minutes" a perfect example of what her childhood was like, never allowed to go sit with friends, only her mother. "No. You know better Charlotte. They are idiots. Even that pathetic excuse of a half brother, and really Meredith grey? You need to be better than her not friends with her"

On the other side of the cafeteria

Meredith, Christina, and Alex sat together chatting and enjoy whatever food they want. "Why is she sat with her mother? Did anyone tell her bring your mom to work day wasn't a thing?" Alex would joke, laughing a little as he ate his pizza. "Alex..You do realise who she is right, that's Diane madden - Avery. She's a surgical legend, her and Meredith's mom worked together...and apparently she's just got a job here, I can't believe it I got two cardio gods and you losers got none." Christina said with a chuckle.

Meredith was clearly the only person on the table thinking about Charlie, and the fact she looked like she didn't wanna be sat there. "You know having a surgical legend as a mother isn't always great.." Mer would say, but as the group could continue..they all got paged. Christina paged by teddy, Meredith and Alex paged by Bailey.

Back at the other side of the cafeteria

Charlie was watching as they ran off being paged, her mother always was great at making her feel left out. "Charlotte!? Are you even listening to me? I said how many surgeries have you scrubbed in on" her mother said clicking her fingers in front of her like she was some dog? "Oh well I haven't yet..but it's only been like four weeks?" She said as she looked at the salad in front of her. Her mother was shaking her head, trying to not get mad.

"I bet this is because of those so called friends you made..I heard you've been sleeping at Meredith greys house? Well not anymore, Tonight you move into my house. it's closer to the hospital and I can make sure you study,  no buts or maybes, you wanna work here you come live with me"
Her mother basically threatened, before getting paged to go meet dr teddy Altman.

This was quite frankly the worse day in Seattle so far...
