It took a few seconds for his words to sink into my head. "What?" I asked. Dad sighed and excused us to a more quiet place. "I hope what you just said is a joke." I said irritated. Dad rolled his eyes and said "Imani think of what this marriage would do for us." " for us? Sir you and your family already have a lot of money!" I said as I whisper shouted. I was getting really angry now.
"Besides, when was the last time you thought of me, huh." I bit my lip as I fought back tears. I just can't believe what's happening.
Dad sighed " Oliver asked me for a favor, he needed to prove to his shareholders that his son is more than capable of handling his company, and he thinks marriage is the only solution and the investment is ours. Don't worry he's already working on trying to convince Alex." He said.
"Alex has been handling the company for years now, everybody knows he's more than capable of handling it. What difference does it make?your just saying these things to me to try and make me see good points in your Stupid reasons for doing this to me!
"Imani you know for a fact that this union is more beneficial to you and your mother than me. Marrying into money is every girls dream!" He said as he whisper shouted at me. "Have you lost your mind Xavier? This is certainly not my dream!" I said sternly. "Don't make harder than it already is Imani." He said as he ran his hands through his hair frustratedly. "Besides it's not someone like you can find love naturally, you should really be grateful. Plus Oliver has been a very good friend to me and Imani trust me when I tell that they're really good people." He said annoyed. "I don't care if they're good people. I'm not getting married to their son!" I said as I yelled angrily at him.
"I don't think you understand princess. You're already Alexander's wife." He smiled. "What" I said confused. "Darling you've been married to Alexander ever since you signed those papers." He said laughing. " not only are the most powerful family in the USA but they're one of the most powerful families in the world. There's really no escaping them." He smiled as he turned around to leave.
"Why are doing this me? You left then out of nowhere you come back to sell me for your benefit. Are Belle and Diana not your daughters too. Mom was right, you'll never change." I said before turning around and walking off. I was holding my tears back and I was starting to find it hard to breath. I just needed a quiet place to let it all out.
While walking my phone started ringing , I was trying to take it out of my purse and then *BOOM* I hit something hard and my phone fell out of my hand.
