I arrived in LA 2 days ago and up until now I still can't find my mother and aunt. My found my empty when I arrived, it looked like it never existed. I couldn't find Janet and Evan anywhere, it's like they vanished into thin air. I escaped from one of Alex's bodyguard who were at my apartment.
Im currently staying with my best friend Anaya. It's like the life I had before never existed. " Imani! Im off to work now make sure to lock the door when you leave!" Her words took me out of my daydream. "Okay. I still got some things to do." I said as she left.
I'm currently working at a restaurant close to Anaya's apartment as a waitress. I got up from the couch to take a shower and get ready for my shift. And as usual I heard my stoma growl, knowing I had to eat something. The last time I ate was yesterday during lunch
I opened the fridge to take out left over pizza that Anaya bought last night. I grabbed water from the fridge after putting the pizza in the microwave. As I was about to start eating I heard the doorbell ring. "What's Anaya doing back here, I thought she was at work." I said to myself as I went to open the door.
Standing at the door we're 5 very large men all in black. "Good morning madam Boss asked us to bring you back to New York." One of the said. I was frightened by their presence, how did they find me? I made sure to not leave any tracks behind. "Well tell your little boss that im not coming back with y'all. I don't need any of his money.!Tell him I'm filing for a divorce!" I said sternly. I was totally done with this crap.
"Sorry mam but Boss told us to be back in New York by noon." The same man said. "Then go !" I laughed. "We will but not without you madam. I'm sorry but you don't have a choice." A different guy said as he walked towards me.
"What are you doing?" I panicked and as I was about to run he grabbed my wrist and another held me from behind and placed a white clothe over my mouth and nose leaving me unconscious.
I woke up later finding myself in a dark room. "Ah... my head!" I said which a pounding head ache. "How long did you plan on staying on your little vacation?" I heard his cold voice echoes through the room sending shivers down my spine. "Why did you miss our engagement party? It's seems like you didn't read the contract." I couldn't see him talking but I could tell he was upset.
"Where's my mother and where have you been keeping her?" I asked. I haven't seen my mother and aunt in a long time and here this damn man asking me about some dumb ass engagement. "Are you serious? I asked you for the reason why you decided to embarrass my entire family including myself and asking me about your dead mother!" He said sternly.
No he has to be lying I said to myself and I bit my lip trying to keep myself from crying. At least not in front of this prick. "You're such a dick head! How can you say something like that? I don't want to marry you anymore, in fact I never even wanted to marry you! Just leave me the fuck alone. I don't need anything from you at all, Just stay away from me! I yelled as I threw pillows at no given direction as I could barely see anything in this room. My mother is my biggest weakness even seeing her hurt from a young age was very difficult for me. I'm very sensitive when it comes to her.
"You should be very happy that you're married to me. Women like you are gold diggers so don't even try acting all innocent when you know that you and your family are living off of me. You'll do as I say, I bought you with my money and you'll stop when I say so and you Will abide by my rules!" He said sternly. I was dumbstruck by his words.
"You'll be indoors for a week, no going out for you. You'll read this contract over and over until you learn your place." He said as he threw a contract on the bed. "I dare you to try something and you'll see what'll happen to you next." He said
"Alex I'm not some slave to you! Stop treating me like some prisoner!"
The lights in the room were turn on and I could see the face of the monster standing in front me wearing all black,glaring at me like a beast ready to devour it's prey. "Is that so? Don't tempt me Imani you really don't want me to hurt you." He said with a light chuckle.
" what more can you do besides your empty threats Alex?" I said. His lips curled as he walked to me slowly, taking one step at a time. "Empty threats Imani ? You know....." he was interrupted by someone knocking on the door.
He walked out the door. I guess he was done trying to intimidate me. I kept myself from crying by telling myself that my mother is not dead and she's okay wherever Alex is keeping her.
