Hande had to think fast. Her children's fate was in danger, and if the ceremony wasn't stopped Safiye Sultan would gain control of the entire empire. Luckily, Hande's greatest ally came to the scene, the chief of the Janissaries. He fiercely opposed Safiye putting the young Sehzade on the throne, because everyone knew she would act as regent. The fratricide rule would definitely come in play, and that would secure at least 10 years of regency for Safiye, as Fatma wouldn't stand a chance.
"Sultana, do you have a plan?" asked one of Hande's servants who was carrying her daughter. Hande was deep in thought, but then she clapped her hands and rubbed them together. A devious smile was plastered on her face.
