All eyes widen in collective horror as a tower near the gates of Alexandria collapsed, breaking through the protective walls.
The world around them seems to freeze in that heart-wrenching moment, dust settling around the once-secure enclave.
The eerie silence was swiftly replaced by the guttural growls and shuffling footsteps of the undead.
"Fucking, shit!" Athena Dixon cursed loudly "Fucking move!" the urgency in the older girl's voice seemed to snap the shocked boys, "Come on, move it boys!" She dragged them away.
They had noticed the walkers coming in at every entrance. Athena had a hold of her staff in her hand, stabbing the walkers that were coming too close to them. Blake was running beside his sister, his black sword, that Michonne had found for him while they were still in the prison, was in his hand.
Dark blood was already dripping from the black sword, since they had met quite some walkers as they run.
Finally, to Athena's relief or not, they had met with Michonne, Ron and Gabriel.
Athena was relieved that Gabriel and Michonne were okay, but some reason, seeing that gun in Ron's hand, brought nothing more than nervousness through her body.
She did not trusted that.
While running, Blake started looking around trying to find Eve, but there were way too many walkers.
A few feet away from them Eve was running and fighting with the walkers around her.
She had lost Maggie and the others when the wall fall, and now she was alone, fighting with all those walkers.
"Eve!" The girl looked up at the guard post, where she saw Maggie waving her over to her "Come on, hurry!"
The girl didn't needed to be told twice as she shoot her way over to the guard post, where Maggie was waiting for her.
The woman was shooting the walkers, that were on Eve's way.
The young girl tripped over her two feet, just a few feet from the ladder. She shot the walkers around her and climbed back to her feet. She run towards the ladder again.
"Eve, come on!" Maggie yelled as she leaned over the ladder and looked down at the girl.
Eve started climbing the ladder, but the walkers got the girl's feet. She started trashing around and kicking the walkers.
The ladder broke from the knot and the whole thing started trashing around.
Just when Eve thought that she was going to end up being a walker bite, Maggie grabbed the girl's hand, just as the ladder fall down, and started pulling her up.
With the help of the woman, the teenage girl manage to climb on the watch post, as both of them lay there out of breath looking at the blue sky.
Along the streets the Dixon girl was running with Carl, Blake and Michonne.
