Luna and Mercury had continued to search for the Earth. They were so confused! He couldn't have just disappeared. He was a large planet after all. Where in the solar system could he have gone?
As they were looking, there was a loud scream. It had only lasted a second but it caught their attention. They looked over and the sun was horrified. Oh no. They dashed towards him as fast as they could but it didn't seem to be fast enough because just a minute later, everything was completely silent for the first time in over a billion years. They knew what that meant.
They knew he had already died but they didn't want to believe it. How were they going to tell the others? What would they even tell them? That Earth committed suicide and they just left him to die? Well, part of that's true but they didn't mean to leave him alone!
