I. THE PRANK
The wails of her mother could be heard from down the hall, Nymeria gulped nervously as she continued with her storytelling, trying to distract her brothers from the horrifying noises coming from their mother whom was delivering their youngest sibling.
"The dragon swept down from the skies and lit the city ablaze!" She exclaimed, the boys perched over in their seats as they engrossed themselves in her story. The commander of the city watch silently boasted with laughter as he observed the young children.
"The dragon rider, filled with rage, burned the people of kings landing alive-!" Nymeria stuck her head out as she told the grotesque story before Ser Harwin interrupted her, "that's enough, no more scaring your brothers with those silly stories." He placed a gentle hand on her shoulder.
Nymeria huffed sadly, the boys however, turned to each other in fear of the story being true and the raged dragon rider were going to come for them next. The cries of their mother finally silenced, they could drown out any worrisome thought they had before.
"How about someone else take a turn telling stories?" Harwin suggested, Jacaerys, the eldest son, jumped up to take his turn. The children began going on about tales of mystical creatures and heroic adventures.
"When he sees a big...scary...Dragon!" Jace said.
The doors of the chambers opened and in walked the children's mother and father. Laenor held the newborn in his arms as Rhaenyra waddled over to a chair to hold herself up after he rough endeavors earlier that morning.
The children jump up from their seats at the welcoming sight of their parents, as does Harwin to help the Princess Rhaenyra to a seat.
"Mother..look!" Jace exclaimed as they all ran over to the table holding the glorious dragon egg for the new edition to the family.
"We chose an egg for the baby." Luke told his mother. "Ah....that looks like the perfect one.." Rhaenyra smiled at her children as she sat down with the help of Harwin, holding his arm on for her to grasp.
"We let Luke choose." Nymeria said.
"Thank you, Jace and Meria."
"It's not everyday a dragon egg leaves the dragonpit, princess. So I thought I'd escort them." Harwin informed Rhaenyra.
"Laenor and I thank you, Commander." She nodded at the man.
"Another boy, I heard." The commander said as he smiled at the princess. She smiled back at him as a way of answering him.
"You'll make a fine knight." Laenor whispered to the sleeping babe in his arms.
