Jessica Everhart falls into a strange dimension when the clock strikes midnight. Her and her newfound friends have to fight monster like creatures called phantoms to survive until they wake up from the nightmare.

"Someone get the door," Jessica said leaving it too close hopping around to lean on something. "Are you okay?" Taylor asked walking over and letting Jessica put her weight on her left leg. "Yeah, I'm good I just haven't run like that in a while." She replied with a smile.
Tyler and Logan kept the door open looking out for the remaining three to make it. "I see them!" Logan said opening the door wider letting them run in then shutting the door with a lock. Jessica slid down the wall feeling a bit relaxed the monsters couldn't get in. Until loud banging broke that relaxation "We should put the couch against the door" Ashlyn ordered.
Jessica laid in the middle of the room spread out. Her ankle would randomly start aching keeping her awake. She tried falling asleep since everyone's been arguing for a while. She opened her eyes to Ashlyn yelling at Tyler. She couldn't help but stiffen a small laugh at the boy standing there in shock.
"Well that was unexpected," Aiden said with a whistle. "And you need to stop taking this so lightly." Ashlyn said "Aye aye." Aiden said with his hands up surrendering. "We need weapons and materials, so let's gather up everything in the motel room and sort through what we can use" Ashlyn ordered the group.
Everyone found some kind of item they could use as a weapon. Taylor and Tyler were working on getting legs from the tables they found. While Logan looked through their bags trying to find some kind of useful item.
Ben was helping Ashlyn with the scratches on her arm. While Jessica grabbed wrap and tape from the med kit they found in the bathroom. She wrapped her ankle moving it around in a circle. "Is that gonna help," Logan pointed to Jessica's newly wrapped ankle. "It'll do for right now, let me help you." She replied slowly moving towards him. "No, you should rest for a bit," Logan said shoeing her away. "He's right just sit over there for a bit," Tyler pointed at the wall Aiden was standing near.
Jessica turned to face Aiden and heard a loud smash ring around the room. "Aye look another weapon." Aiden held up a broken bottle. "Watch it you should've done that in the bathroom, now there's glass everywhere" Tyler yelled. "I'll get the broom," Logan stood up looking for a broom. "I was supposed to sit there," Jessica said with a small frown. "Come by me." Taylor patted the spot near her. Jessica slowly waddled over.
Jessica sat down slightly leaning on Taylor trying to stay awake. "Here rest your leg on this." Tyler grabbed one of the pillows on the couch nearby by placed it down for Jessica. "How many of these do we have?" Ashlyn asked picking up one of the legs. "Uh, eight including the ones we're taking off now" Taylor replied." it's been quiet for a while now, do you think the monsters are gone?" Taylor asked. "They're still outside the door I can hear them but not in a normal way," Ashlyn answered. "What do you mean?" Logan questioned, "Remember when I said I have sensitive ears?"
"Oh, that's right so you can hear them moving around outside or something?" Aiden said, "Sort of they make a certain.. sound I don't think you guys can hear." Ashlyn answered trying her best to describe her hearing. "Can you get to the point," Tyler said getting annoyed. "I'm trying you jerk this isn't easy to explain, the thing is because oh how loud everything is to me I hear phantom noises as a side effect sounds that aren't really there." Ashlyn tried to explain. "In the Sorrel Weed house, I thought I was hearing a phantom noise, and when I saw the monster I believed it was just a type of hallucination. But then it grabbed me." She finished
Tyler scoffed "A hallucination that grabbed you injured you and that all of us had seen and you thought it wasn't real?" Tyler said trying to argue. "Well, you thought it was a prank and-" Jessica rolled her eyes over the constant arguing "Ashlyn just continue explaining please." Ashlyn slightly smiled "What I'm getting at is that I can hear and locate them when you guys can't."
"So what's the plan use your magic hearing to save the day," Tyler said mocking Ashlyn's hearing abilities. "No...well yes but later." Ashlyn slowly said. "I think we should stay here for now so we can rest and prepare ourselves once we go outside there's no telling what we'll encounter," Ashlyn stated. "And let's not leave the living room if something happens I don't want to be split up." She continued.
Ashlyn stood up. "There isn't much we can do right now so do some mental exercises." She suggested. "Mental exercise?" Aiden questioned. "Imagine yourself in certain situations and seeing how you will react. Any time you aren't asleep that's what you should be doing." Ashlyn ordered moving her way over to Logan. "Yeah great plan daydream and sleep with monsters outside the door," Tyler said sarcastically.
"Well take turns looking out, Logan is the time still twelve." Ashlyn asked, "Um I'll check, it hasn't changed." Logan said holding up his phone. "Alright we'll keep resetting a timer every hour then, I'll take the first shift who wants to go after?" Ashlyn asked. "She can since she's already out." Tyler pointed to Jessica in a deep sleep.
Jessica shot up waking up from her nightmare. She was met with Taylor and Ashlyn grabbing onto each other. Jessica yawned with a light stretch "I had this funny dream where we saw a ton of that ghost thing we saw at that house." She said with a light laugh. The two girls stared at her in disbelief "What...? Did it actually happen or something." Taylor slightly nodded.
The three girls immediately felt a wave of sickness in them running to the bathroom Ashlyn threw up in the shower while Taylor went to the toilet and Jessica grabbed the trash can.
Sarah and Emma walked in on the three girls worried "Are you guys okay?" They asked, "Taylor, Ashlyn, Jessica are you in here." Yelling came from outside the bathroom "Ah found em." Aiden's head popped in scaring both Emma and Sarah. "What are you doing in here!" Sarah yelled. "Wait, aren't you two supposed to be dead or somethin'?" Aiden said looking at the two girls. Jessica stood up with trashcan in hand trying to get some kind of fresh air
"Move-," Tyler yelled out of breath running from his room to find Taylor. He was relieved by the sight of her being alive. All of a sudden Aiden and Tyler had a wave of nausea. "Ah, I feel another waving coming on," Aiden said putting his hand up to his mouth. Jessica shoved the trashcan their way not wanting them to ruin their room.
2 weeks later
That one nightmare turned into every night after the Savannah House. The seven groups of kids had to find ways to survive. The things they learned through the two weeks were is they always wake up in the dream or dimension at midnight and then have seven hours until they wake up in the real world. Anything that is moved in the real world will counter in the other dimension but anything they can move in the dimension can't affect the real world. The monsters they call phantoms are everywhere. The group made it over to Ashlyn's school bus graveyard as their hideout since it had high walls and some kind of materials they could use.
