Jessica woke up with a horrible headache she could barely open her eyes or get up. Once her eyes adjusted to the light she could barely see anything out of her left eye. She covered the right side of her face with her hand looking around her now blurry room. She couldn't help but panic at the fact maybe Ashlyn was wrong if they get hurt it affects them in both worlds.

Jessica ran to the mirror closing her eyes and taking a deep breath before opening them. Her hand lightly dragged across the missing scratches from the phantom. She started to place one hand on and off of both of her eyes trying to understand why her body was reacting this way.

"What the hell are you doing..." Zach said watching his sister with a confused gaze. Jessica gave her brother a straight mouth grin with her eyes wide open "Nothing." She turned to her closet finding the outfit she wanted to wear for the day, lightly bumping into the frame with her shoulder. "Sure..."

Every morning has been the same for Jessica she gets up for school, gets ready, and then finds her friends to discuss the previous night. Normally she'll find Logan first then the pair would find the rest of the group. Logan would wait for Jessica by her locker but he wasn't there today. She sent him a quick text assuming he might've stayed home, which was unlike him. Then she decided to find the rest of the group hoping Logan was there.

At the end of the hall she could see the group of five walking together Taylor gestured a light wave to her who noticed Jessica from the distance. But her attention was brought to the small argument near the lockers.

Barron was yelling at Logan with books in his hand moving in closer to argue more into Logan's face. Jessica's body reacted before she could think making her way over and inserting herself into the conversation.

"Barron don't you get embarrassed doing this in front of everyone." She walked up behind him cross-armed. He turned around facing Jessica with a smirk "Felt brave enough to do something yourself without Zach's help." He scoffed moving closer "What.." Jessica forgot every word she was going say to Barron she stood there quietly. "Everyone talks about it, how you walk around thinking you're better than everyone else because of your amazing brother." He slouched down to meet Jessica's face "But you're really nothing without him." Jessica walked backwards knocking into something hard.

"What are you doing?" Jessica's headshot to the person behind her. Tyler was standing there glaring back at Barron. "Just talking to my science partner about our project." Tyler glanced at Logan he was trembling with a red mark on the side of his cheek "I'm sure you were" Tyler looked down at Jessica her head was facing down and she was playing with a strand of her hair "Jess is my science partner so what could you two talk about." Tyler stood up closer to Barron. "Am I not allowed to talk to her Ty." He smirk hoping to get a reaction out of the boy in front of him. Tyler sighed knowing he wouldn't get anywhere with him "I'm not an idiot, I could hear you yelling from the end of the hallway. You're already skating on thin ice with coach," Barron's smile dropped "So buzz off before he finds out how you're treating your science 'partner'." Barron turned and mumbled something while he walked off

Jessica remained focused on the ground. Her mind went through every interaction and moment she had with people in class. She started to overanalyze past conversations trying to figure out if she didn't get the hint about people not liking her. She heard two people walk up and talk about the situation but her mind couldn't register what they were saying. She was too busy with the past.

The long walls of the hallway became blank she felt like she was in a dark room alone. The dark blank walls started to close in. Past conversations and interactions felt louder than usual in her head.
