A/N: Hello loves, welcome to my poetry book! This is technically the first time I've ever shared my poetry with anyone outside of my family, and I'm excited to share it with you!💜 Anyway, enough of my rambling. Without further ado, here is "My Irises".
Family is one of my favorite words; it can bend, stretch, or even expand like an umbrella to include others. Like a rainbow after a storm with an array of colors.
If my loved ones were in a garden, they might be mistaken for a flower bouquet. Their petals welcoming the sun's rays; the strong, scarred stems and leaves protecting blossoms from most overcast days.
Silver linings raise my spirits, easing my mind. To their encouraging words and helping hands, I gladly return in kind.
Like theatre, my family's stories have begun and ended for centuries, each leaving behind different legacies.
Painters, writers, and everything in between.
These souls I hold close to my heart, lovely to behold. The suns, dreamers, and stars that have loved me unconditionally with their beautiful hearts of gold.
My irises have become the lights of my eyes.
