It's been four days since alpha Killian found his mate. Three days since he last saw her. Yup, you guessed it right, he was avoiding her.

Alpha Killian hated things he didn't understand, and his mate was an understatement of the word. He was a totally different person when he was with her, even though it was only for a day.
He liked that version of himself more, that scared him. Because he knew that version only came out around his mate. He felt things he had never felt before, heck his wolf had being calm and peaceful that day, something that never happens.

He actually didn't know the real reason he was avoiding her, but there were several. For beginners, he didn't want a mate, he didn't like handling all those emotions and feelings that came with being around her, he also didn't like how she clouded his brain turning it into mush. But the reason that he didn't want to admit to himself, was selfless. He didn't want her to be stuck with a monster like himself. He could tell she was pure and a beast like himself would only take that away.

For the past three days everyone was avoiding him like a plaque. He had gone from controllable bad to keep out worse. His anger fits were frequent, blood thirst top notch his eyes had actually been red in color for the last two days.
Things were getting out of hand.

Liam didn't need to be a genius to know what was wrong with the alpha. The guy was just too stubborn to be helped. At least Liam knew he hadn't been stupid enough to reject his mate.

Today, he had enough, so he went to seek out the girl that caused all this mayhem but she was as stubborn as the alpha, no wonder they were paired together. Liam humphed as he stormed towards the alpha's office. He hadn't even made it to the door when the alpha broke it down red eyes staring straight at him. Next thing he knew a hand of steel was blocking his windpipe, he gasped from both shock and lack of air.

"Where is she!?"
Oh shit, Liam hadn't realized that he had the faintest scent of the alpha's mate after they shook hands. Normally such minimal contact wouldn't  give a smell enough to be scented, but the alpha senses are naturally high lighten and now in his predatory mode they don't miss shit.

"Aaaat t..the...Co.. coffee shhh...."
Liam was turning blue, he couldn't even talk properly.

The alpha dropped him and walked away without another glance like he hadn't choked his Beta half to death.
Liam was left on the floor wheezing and coughing for his dear life. Being the alpha's best friend was going to get him killed one day.

Killian had only one goal in his mind, Liah.
He could have gone just a little bit longer but after that sniff of his mate had him throwing all reason out of the window. He knew exactly where to find her.

"Welcome to Grayson's pastries, what can I....."
That voice was like music to his ears, he could tell she was staring at him probably shocked.  He walked to where her scent was strongest, but he couldn't quite reach her, a barrier. He reached out placing his hands on the counter, never in his life did he think he could hate a furniture.

"Hello kitten"
He said in a calm yet deeper than normal voice, he was trying to keep his cool not to scare her. His eyes were still red so that was scary enough. Killian still felt conflicted he wanted to hold her so bad it was maddening. For now he would settle for her intoxicating scent and close proximity.

"Excuse me"
Her sweet voice again, but it sounded angry, she didn't even stutter like she does when he talks to her. Her small feet rushed away from him with urgency. Was she running away?

She had just stepped out of the back door when the alpha wrapped a strong arm around her waist pulling her to a stop.

There it was again the hues dancing in front of his functionless eyes. His red eyes together with his wolf slowly retreating.
She stiffened and shivered under his touch.

"Fuuck"
"You stay away from me!"

Did that just happen. The alpha was in shock and awe. His mate had just hit him HARD on his groin. Dammn that woman can hit. He stayed bent holding his crotch for a few seconds absorbing the pain and shock.

Killian slowly rise up, with a smirk on his face, his eyes taking a darker shade. Who knew one could be aroused by violence.
He stared at the direction his mate had run off to, he could tell she was fast but Killian enjoyed a good chase.
He was a predator after all.
