Chapter Twenty-three

Two weeks later

y/n Pov.

It's been two weeks and the kids looked like they were two years old. They were old enough to start hunting so when night fell, I took them out. As we were walking through the forest Elijah started to speak.

"Mommy what are we doing out here?" he asked me. For a two week old immortal they are very much intelligent. They speak very well. I looked at him and I looked at Nyx and sighed.

"Well, my little dumplings, I'm taking you guys on your first hunt since you guys are old enough," I told them. They looked at each other and they started to hop around excited. They were in the house for so long feeding off blood bags and I guess it was getting to them.

"Yes" Nyx said while holding her brother's hands. We continued to walk into the forest and the kids' heard movements. They stopped where they were and listened very closely.

"Okay kids I'll you guys go on your own, but I will know where you are so don't be afraid okay" I told them, and they nodded their heads.

"Okay have fun" I said, and they were off. I continued to follow them until I heard them come back.

"Mommy, mommy look I caught my first rabbit," said Nyx.

"Me to look we caught it together look." said Elijah.

"That's wonderful my little dumplings, let's go show other mommy and daddy to show how strong you two are on your first hunt." I told them, they beam with happiness and run to the house as I look at them and I laugh. They are so wonderful. I just felt whole with them like something was telling me that I made the right choice bringing them out here. I shook my head and continued to walk through the forest, and I came close to the kids. I saw them talking to Alice.

"Y/n what are you doing over there, come close." As I walked closer Alice smiled at me. I smiled back at her and walked towards her. She came over to me and gave me a kiss on the lips. As she kissed me, I closed my eyes savoring her presence in front of me. As she pulled back, I opened my eyes and looked at the kids.

"Ewwwwww" both of the kids said to me, and Alice laughed at them.

"Oh, hush Elijah and Nyx it's just to show how much I love my mate and your mom" she told them.

"Are you okay y/n?" she asked me. I all but nodded my head and as she was about to say something someone interrupted.

"There you guys are, I've been looking for you guys everywhere" I heard someone say behind us. It was Jasper. As he came down the stairs he came and gave Alice a kiss and came to me and kissed me also. It was the same feeling I had with Alice. I could never get tired of it. The feeling of savoring the kiss longer than usual. When he stopped kissing me, I opened my eyes and for the first time I saw a smile from both of them. I felt a smile on my face as they smiled at me. The kids ran to Jasper and hugged him.

"Daddy, daddy look, we caught our first rabbit." they said together. Jasper looked at me still holding the kids and still smiling at me.

"So, I guess you took them out for their first hunt huh?" he asked, I nodded my head.

"Yes, it seems like the right time, they're growing so fast, and I wanted them to know what we hunt instead of hunting humans" I told them.

"That's great, my little vamps are growing up on us." said Alice.

"I know and to think you just had them 2 weeks ago" jasper said.

"I can't believe it either" I told him, smiling at the kids who are now playing with Alice. As we watch them play with her. I felt an arm go around my shoulder. I looked to my left and it was jasper. He was staring at me and pulled me closer to him.

"I'm so glad you are our mate. If we didn't know we were empty, then we know we were before we found you or should I say you found us." he laughed while rubbing my shoulder. I leaned into him and looked at our kids playing with our mate. I love it when they say that. I felt so whole, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. Watching the kids continuing playing we heard someone behind us walking towards us. I looked over my shoulder and saw someone walking towards us. As he approached us the little girl jumped up and ran to him. He opened his arms, and he hugged her. I couldn't help but smile at both of them.

"Daddy I was waiting for you, where have you been?" she asked him, still hugging him. He switched her to his side and held her and looked at her smiling.

"I stopped to get something for you and Elijah" he said, and when he said Elijah's name he jumped up and ran to him beaming happily.

"What did you get us, what did you get us?" Elijah asked, jumping up and down. The man laughed at him and put Nyx down and went back to a black car that I just noticed and came back with toys for the both of them. They hugged the man and ran back to us showing us what they got. I smiled at them. They were the precious little kids I've ever seen. So full of energy. As I was still looking at the kids, I felt jasper beside me let go of my shoulder and walked towards the man.

"It was nice seeing you again Damon". Damon nodded his head. He was gone after a week since I had the children. He said he had to check on his brother and everyone. Now that he's back I was happy that our little girl could see him. While we were all playing with the kids, we heard a crunch come from us behind us.

"Well, well well would you look at the happy family" the person said. I was shocked to see who they were. I thought they were dead, but it seems like it wasn't true at all.

"Who are you and what do you want?" Damon asked while he and Jasper pulled the kids behind them. While me and Alice stand on either side of Damon and Jasper. The person just smiled and looked over at everyone. Until their eyes landed on me. Their smile disappeared, they began to walk towards me, but Jasper stepped in front of me before they could get close.

"I'm not asking again," Damon said. I held Jasper's arm and pulled him behind me. As I looked into the person's eyes, I saw someone coming from behind them as well. My heart dropped into my stomach when their eyes looked into mine.

"Dean.......... Bre"
