"Who are you?" I actually knew the answer to that. Hydra had tracked me down. "And what do you want from me?"
The two men looked at each other before one of them approached me. His black hair almost fell into his eyes. "We don't want anything from you. The serum didn't work on you, so you're useless to us. But your friend, Barnes, is much more important. We want him and you will convince him to come to us voluntarily."
I scowled at him. "I certainly won't."
"You will or you'll die. It's as simple as that."
After hesitating for a moment, I pulled my cell phone out of the tacshe and dialed Bucky's number. Immediately I heard his desperate voice. "Doll? Are you all right? What happened? Where did they take you?" So, he guessed what had happened.
I told him the address and then added, "You have to be there in an hour."
The black-haired man lowered his gun a little and nodded in satisfaction, which only made me angrier. They were going to hurt Bucky again and take away his memories. I gathered all my courage and then said as quickly as I could, "James, don't come. This is a trap. They want you and..." At that moment, the other brown-haired man snatched the cell phone out of my hand. "You will come, and you will come alone James, or it will end very badly for your girl. Better not risk it", he said with a foreign accent and turned my phone off.

I just shook my head. "And what if he won't come? Will you just kill me?"

They ignored my question, instead the brown-haired man replied, "Too bad the serum and experiments didn't work for you."

"It would certainly have been a good weapon," the other added with a big grin.

I snorted. "Well, if you say so."

What they didn't know was that it had worked. I could now hear things at great distances, but of course I kept that to myself. I didn't want them to use me for their immoral acts.

Bucky's pov

I desperately checked my cell phone, where Tony's name appeared again. What could I say to him? That I had let Connie out of my sight for a moment and she had been kidnapped?

"You wanted to call me."

I sighed. "I know. But she isn't back." "Then go get her."

"I can't."

"Why not?" His voice became louder.

"Because Hydra got her."

"WHAT?!"

"I couldn't protect her. I'm so sorry. But I know where she is and will get her out of there immediately. "

"Send me the address!"

"No, I have to go alone. Otherwise, they will hurt her." I heard an angry snort. "If she has even one scratch, then ..."

"She won't." I interrupted him and ended the call.

Bucky didn't even need 10 minutes before he was here. After he arrived, he was immediately brought to us, held by three men with guns.". He looked so desperate and it broke my heart. When he saw the brown-haired man, his eyes darkened. "Zemo."

"Well, well, hello James. You are finally back with us. Too bad we had to kidnap your girl first, but at least it was effective." Zemo stroked my cheek with his hand, causing Bucky to narrow his eyes and shout "don't touch her you dirty..."

"Mr. Barnes, that's no way to talk," a voice suddenly rang out and shortly afterwards an older man in a suit joined us. It looked like it was their leader.

"So, this girl has managed to make you remember. That's amazing."

He turned to me. "How did you do that, sweetie?"

"Don't answer, doll!" ordered Bucky, whereupon the leader slapped him hard across the face. "You don't interrupt conversations, Mr. Barnes. That's rude. Now, child, how did you do it?"

"I... I don't know," I stammered. "I just said his name." Now that I thought about it, it seemed strange too.

"Well, maybe the serum dose was too low." He turned to the black-haired man. "You were responsible for that."

The man's eyes widened. "Sir, please. I've dosed them correctly."

The leader smiled and nodded. "That's all right."

Suddenly a shot rang out and the man fell to the ground motionless as blood poured from his mouth. My eyes wandered to the leader, who was putting his weapon away again. Tears formed in my eyes. I had never seen anyone killed in front of me before. It was horrible.

"Why did you do that?" I asked angrily, unable to stop the tears. In no time at all, my cheek was wet.

"He made a mistake and I can't tolerate that."

As I wiped away the tears, he shouted to his men, "Wipe him and start over." After Bucky was tied to a chair, I heard the buzzing of several machines approaching his head. When he started screaming, I covered my ears. I couldn't stand to see him suffer. It was too much. Then the leader stood in front of me and took his hands away from my ears and turned my head in Bucky's direction so I could see his pained face. "I want you to see this." He wasn't serious. Bucky's scream got louder and louder and I could do nothing but sob. My whole body felt numb and my head started to ache, but that was nothing to the pain bucky must be feeling at that moment. Finally, the screaming stopped and everything went quiet. The machines had been turned off. The leader grinned satisfied and untied Bucky's bonds. "And now, soldier, I want you to kill the girl." I looked at him in shock. as he recited various words. "Longing. Rusted." Bucky stood up. "Seventeen. Daybreak." He took a step towards me and I dodged. "Furnace. Nine." "No, James. Please. Remember." But he was getting closer and closer and suddenly I couldn't back away any further. "Benign, homecoming." Bucky had reached me and held out his metal hand. "Please, James. Don't do this." "One. Freight car." I closed my eyes as his hand gripped my neck, but surprisingly, I felt no pain. "Play along, doll," he whispered and I wanted to fall around his neck. He remembered. I had never been so relieved. I pretended to gasp for air before dropping to the floor.

The leader clapped enthusiastically. "Very good, soldier."

I heard his footsteps approaching. I heard his footsteps approaching before he knelt down next to me. I instinctively held my breath so as not to attract attention. Then he stood up and suddenly I felt a sharp pain in my left hand, followed by a crack. I screamed out. He had stepped on my wrist and had probably just broken it.

"How do you make sure he always remembers you, girl?"

"I... I don't know," I cried desperately and looked at Bucky, who was being led away by several men. He'd never looked so angry.

"Tell me!" He walked to my other hand and put his foot on it.

"Stop. Please. I honestly don't know." He pressed harder.

"What aren't you telling us?"

"I have powers!"

He finally took his foot away and looked at me open-mouthed. "So, it worked, then? What kind of powers?"

"I can hear over great distances. Until now I thought that was the only thing, but maybe that's why I can help Bucky remember. I mean, I don't know. But it might be possible."

He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "That is interesting. We can work with that. Zemo, put her in a cell."

Zemo obeyed, grabbed me roughly and dragged me down a dark hallway. He stopped in front of a metal door and unlocked it. There was no light in the room. He pushed me inside, closed the door and locked it. I sat down on the cool floor and gripped my broken wrist. It hurt like hell but my thoughts hurt even more.
Would they experiment with me again now? Would they also erase my memory and abuse me for their own purposes? The thought gave me the creeps. And the most important thing: Would they ever let me see Bucky again?
