"you called me?" jiah asks, heading out of her room as her eyes have instantly landed on the elder men sitting in the living room of her apartment with a stranger. he's dressed in a fitting balck suit complimented with formal white shirt and a file in his hands.

he sends her a brief smile, so jiah greets him too, bowing politely before finding herself a seat next to her boyfriend. "what is going on?" she whispers to him.

jungkook glances at the elders, namjoon, yoongi and seokjin, before speaking, "he's namjoon hyung's friend, mr. seong. he's gonna be taking your case in court," he sighs, glancing at jiah, who's more than just shocked to hear those words. "-against taehyung for ji's custody."

"what?" jiah frowns, turning to yoongi, who nods to confirm jungkook's words. "who decided that? who told you all that i wanted to do a court case?!" she stands up, glaring at the men and looks at the lawyer, "mr. seong, i'm sorry for the inconvenience, but i'm good. we're not taking anything to court."

"you have to. or else kim taehyung will take the kid." the man says, "it must be hard for you, miss jiah, but this is the best option right now if you don't wanna let your ex take your son."

"we can talk it out, you don't have to worry about us." she blurts, tears pooling her eyes as she turns away, finding jungkook and holds his arm, "please, tell him i don't wanna fight any case... i can't lose my baby, jungkook. if we take this court, taehyung's gonna dig a lot of stuff. you don't know him. it's bad idea... we're not- we're not doing a case." she pleads.

"stop being scared of him." jungkook steps closer to her, cupping her face as he looks in her eyes. "you need to stop fearing him if you wanna win. he can't do anything to you, alright?"

"he doesn't have to touch me to hurt me." jiah repeats taehyung's words like a whisper, "he wouldn't lay a finger on me and ruin my life. that's what he is, jungkook. i'm not lying, please listen to me. let's not take it to court."

"but he has alredy filed in for the child's custody." the lawyer voices out, standing up and sighs, "namjoon, i came here because you asked me, and i genuinely wanna a help you guys. so just, talk and sort it out. call me when you get to a conclusion. but don't take too long, we barely have any time if you wanna fight for the custody."

with that the lawyer stands up, ready to leave. jiah groans under her breath, ignoring all the males in the room and rubs her eyes. the doorbell goes off, making her turn her head to check the time, realising it's six and taehyung kept his promise. she hurries to the front door only to see jihun all happy and excited at the sight of her, quickly getting in her arms for his favourite hugs and kisses.

"my baby..." jiah mumbles, kissing jihun's face a couple times with her eyes closed as she finally feels like she can breathe in peace.

"are you doing okay?" taehyung asks.

his voice has jiah looking up at him, finding the same handsome face she fell for and still regrets. he's like the warmth of the fire that could burn you in a blink of an eye, a sword with edges sharp. he's the ocean, he's a dark night. all in himself. he's a nightmare that has the has power to shape your fears, mould your believes as per his, and use your mind to knit a story of his own.

he's kim taehyung.

"why'd you do that?" jiah hushes out, letting her son down.

"can you elaborate, princess? i'm doing plenty of important stuff these days." he says. "but let me guess, you're talking about ji's custody?"

jiah's eyes drop a tear, hating that he can be so casually mentioning it, whereas jiah can feel her heart ripping out of her chest by the mere thought of letting her son go. "why..." she hushes out.
