As the rituals concluded, sealing our marriage, Aadarsh was taken aback by my actions. But deep down, I knew what I was doing. Vanya, overwhelmed with emotions, sought solace in her mother's arms. Sensing the need to talk to Aadarsh, I approached him.

"Bhai, do you even know who she is?" he questioned, his voice filled with concern.

"Aadi, from this moment on, she is your bhabhi. Do you really need to know more?" I replied, hoping to ease his worries.

He lowered his gaze, understanding the gravity of the situation. "No, Bhai, I understand. But... what about our family? If they find out about her past..." his voice trailed off.

I took a deep breath, contemplating my response. "Listen, Aadi, we can't let anyone in the family know about her painful past. It's our responsibility to protect her."

"Bhai, are you suggesting we hide it?" he asked, his eyes widening in surprise.

I nodded, my expression serious. "Yes, we have to. Now, go home. You know what needs to be done."

As I settled into the car, ready to head back home, Vanya's grandpa approached me, his eyes filled with tears. He pleaded, "Sahib, we have nothing but our daughter Vanya. Please take care of her."

Moved by his words, I stepped out of the car and touched his feet, a sign of respect. "From now on, I am your son too, so there's no need for formalities, Dada ji," I assured him, embracing him tightly.

As we sat in the car after bidding farewell to my family, a heavy silence filled the air. Thoughts raced through my mind, the lady's words echoing in my ears. Unable to contain my emotions any longer, tears began to flow uncontrollably down my face. It felt like a storm of doubt and self-blame had engulfed me completely.

Suddenly, he noticed my distress and quickly brought the car to a stop. Concern laced his voice as he asked, "Hey, what happened, girl?"

Through my sobs, I managed to utter the words that had been haunting me, "Is it true? Am I really a sin?"
