_________________________________________I was sitting on the bed, lost in my thoughts about the cheek kiss he gave me earlier in the morning. It made me blush a little, and I couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and nervousness. Just as I was lost in my daydream, I suddenly heard his voice behind me, asking why I was blushing. I was completely taken aback because I hadn't even realized when he had entered the room.
Trying to regain my composure, I stammered, "N-no, I-I was not." I turned my face away, hoping to hide my embarrassment. He went to the cupboard, searching for a file, but then something seemed to change his mind. He started walking towards me, and my heart skipped a beat.
I quickly stood up from the bed, thinking maybe it was time for me to leave the room, but before I could make a move, he gently held my wrist, preventing me from going anywhere. He made me stand in front of him, and I could feel my cheeks turning even redder.
He held my chin with his thumb and leaned in to kiss my forehead. It was a tender gesture that sent shivers down my spine. I couldn't help but close my eyes, savoring the moment. It was like time stood still, and all that mattered was the warmth of his touch.
Just when I thought the moment couldn't get any more intense, he started to say something.
"Do you want me to kiss your..." he began, but I opened my eyes halfway, feeling a mix of anticipation and uncertainty. Before I could respond, I heard a familiar voice calling out from the door.
"Veenu..." It was Roohi interrupting us. We quickly moved apart, startled by her sudden presence. I looked towards the door, and there she was, seemingly unaware of anything that had just transpired. "Jiju, are you still here?" she asked innocently.
"No, I'm leaving... bye," he replied, giving me a smirked smile before he left the room. I stood there, feeling a rush of emotions and a million thoughts running through my mind. It was a moment that left me longing for more, yet unsure of what the future held.
As I replayed the encounter in my mind, I couldn't help but wonder what it all meant. Was it just a fleeting moment, or was there something more between us? Only time would tell.
"Oye madam, ye red tomato kyu ho rakhi tu huh?" she asked.
"Nothing, Roohi, come sit nah," I said.
"Tell me, how is Maa, Dadi Bua, Baba?" I asked.
"They all are fine, and they are missing you a lot. Like Aunty was almost about to cry last night, but thankfully, I was there, and I didn't let her cry," she said. Her words make me miss Maa even more because I am the younger daughter of the house, and now I am also married.
"Anyway, you know what? Prathna came to the house in the morning and she was only saying one thing: that she wanted you to come with her to Dubai for holidays," she said, and I was literally smiling because Dii wants to spend time with me after so long.
