Morrigan spent her first hour in the present sobbing and screaming into the great beyond. Then she grabbed her clothes from her car. She tried the car but it didn't turn on. Morrigan thought it best to find the cave where she fell in. It was also where she put a copy of Ayana's book after Samhain. She might have also prayed to the gods that it took her back. To the exact moment of her bliss. To share with her love. She dropped to the ground randomly as she thought of all she lost. They were all long dead. She'd never see them again and that broke something in her. She needed Grams.
Morrigan grabbed the book and ended up walking back to town covered in dust. She looked up at the full moon and tried to close her eyes and feel for wolves but she felt nothing so far. Finally she reached her Grams house and unlocked the door. She called out, "Grams! Grams!" as she looked around. It smelled a little stale and seemed dark. That worried her.
She left the book and went to Rudy's. She knocked on the door quick and panicked. Bonnie opened the door and she looked shocked. "Hey Bon, where's Grams? I went home but she wasn't there. Is she staying at the university or on some research trip?" Morrigan went through all the possibilities.
"Where have you been? I called you like a million times."
"It is a long story that I will tell you both at the same time. So, want to come with me to Whitmore?"
"Morrigan, she isn't there."
"What do you mean?" Bonnie reached out and Morrigan grabbed her hand. Bonnie dropped while Morrigan took what she needed. Then she fell to her knees.
"What did you do?!" Morrigan asked angrily and backed up onto another part of the porch, sobbing. "No, no, no, no.no, no." She rocked back and forth, eyes blurred out with tears.
"Mor, I'm sorry. I didn't know."
"No, no, maaamaaaa." Bonnie sat on her knees and cried just watching Morrigan. She tried to reach for her sister but Morrigan got up quickly and wiped her face, "Stay away from me."
She went back home and just prayed. Then she felt something familiar. Vampires, yes. But something told her they were familiar. Like a signal from the gods. "They're here?" she seemingly asked the wind.
Soon she found herself at the apartments in the town centre. She even knew what door. Morrigan went up and knocked on it. There were two vampires in there and she was prepared to defend herself if it was a trap but she hoped it wasn't. She couldn't come back to this. Not this. If there was nothing behind that door she'd find any way to go back. Or any way to end it all. What was life without the ones you love?
The door opened and the sight shocked her. There he was. Her man. Her love. With quite a modern and dashing haircut. Tears fell down her face. He looked at her in confusion then down at the necklace hanging into her cleavage. "Niki," she whispered but didn't move towards him. He coughed.
"Morrigan? Why? How? This is one of Elijah's tricks. One of his cruelest, I'll admit."
"Where is Eli? I felt something similar but he was human. Not vampire. And you're vampire and I'm so confused. Is anyone else here? Where are they? I have so much to tell you all. And I can now." She reached for him but his eyes turned cold and he backed away.
"I don't have time for this. This is the biggest day of my life."
"I thought you said time with me was never a waste?" She rushed forward and grabbed him, for once sharing all of her own secrets, memories and knowledge. He held them both up then just stared into her eyes as they stood foreheads pressed together.
"How are you here?" she asked him.
"Take," he told her and she did as he asked. All thousand years of secrets and memories. Her love had been a naughty boy. But then she saw it. Henrik. And her heart broke again. She could take them all living out their happy lives. But that it ended the way it did, she didn't understand the gods right now.
