Everyone arrived back to the Castle and it was almost like the festival styill continued. There was old school R & B playing throughout the house. They got out of the car and people started going their separate ways. Denise Merick drove up the path with her children in the backseat. She sent her nanny to the hotel, knowing that she couldn't be there for that moment. "Mom, what are we doing here?" Veronica, named for her husband Verone.
"Well, we actually came to this festival because I found out I have some family left. From my parents. My mother's family. Most of the people we're meeting are her cousins."
"Like Laura is Dad's cousin?" her son, Dennis, asked.
"Exactly like that," she said. They drove up and saw the house. Every person in the car had a dropped jaw.
"That is a really big house."
"Well a lot of people live here now." She drove to where she saw the other cars were and tensed up when people came to open the door for her.
"You're Denise. I'm your cousin Diana. I was chosen to welcome you since out of the people available I do not watch sports so I have no idea who you or your husband is," she said with a bright smile. Dennis and Veronica giggled. Denise just smiled, "Morrigan said you would prefer we not know. Was she right?"
"It doesn't matter. But I suppose it is refreshing."
"Do you live in the big house?" Veronica asked.
"I do not. I live on the other side of property in the Little Village," she said as she began guiding them through the people.
"What's the Little Village?" Veronica asked.
"A collection of smaller homes on a paved street. See, this entire property is now called the Mikaelson-Bennett Compound. It has almost sixty acres of property. That includes the Castle, the Guest House, and the Little Village."
"Mom says that everyone lives here belongs to the same family."
"We do. We are all Bennetts," Diana said, guiding them into the main room.
Carolyn drove Ivy and Holly last in the caravan to the compound. "Why are we here?" Holly asked.
"We need help. They have money, resources, and I need help since I used magic to protect us.Then there's one other thing but we will talk about that once we get inside." They followed the cars in and were astonished at the size of the house.
"Are we living here now?" Ivy asked.
"I don't know where we will be living. But it will be safe, warm, and loving. Just like I always promised, okay?" she looked back at them and they nodded. Carolyn had been the closest thing they had to a mother and they knew things were going to be a little tough.
Kristen opened the door for Carolyn. "Oh, thank you," she said nervously as she went tot eh back because Ivy was still short enough to be in a car seat.
"I am Kristen, the Beta, I'm here to take you to the Guest house. That is where you'll be staying," Kristen said. She took them back around the house, "There's no locks yet but we give you all the privacy and security is twenty four seven."
"That much?"
"Yes. Everyone is very well protected. Your food is restocked magically. The house is also cleaned magically."
"I didn't know our magic could do that," Carolyn said and her jaw dropped as they arrived at the guest house. There was an expansive backyard but in the lush of the trees another house stood out. It was small only in comparison to the castle. But it looked like it had at least five bedrooms.
