Almost Five Years Later
"Mummy!" Morrigan heard and rolled her eyes playfully as she headed out of her closet. She went into her bedroom to see Solaya there with a red face full of tears.
"What's wrong, my love?" she asked and picked up her daughter, who wasn't yet six.
"Mani ruined my dress!" she said and Morrigan placed her on the bed and looked around.
"Where?"
"Mummy! I know you see it!" she pointed to a small smear of chocolate towards the hem of her dress.
"Oh, that's easily fixable," she ran her hand over it and the spot went away.
"You saved my dress!" she said. Morrigan kissed her daughter's cheek.
"Of course I did. I had to. We match, right?" Solaya's dress was an age appropriate recreation of the dress Morrigan wore on her first Raspberry Festival. Morrigan wore a new creation also inspired by it. Her original dress wouldn't fit because she was currently five months pregnant. The dress was pink and embroidered with flowers and wild raspberries and tied into the overall theme, "Now, we're still missing one thing. What could it be?"
"Flowers!" Solaya said and Morrigan agreed. She opened her hands and the two flower crowns appeared. she put smaller one on Solaya and the larger one on herself.
"There are my girls," they heard a voice say and both looked over to the door to see Niklaus there in his linen shirt and slacks.
"Daddy!" Solaya went down from the bed and jumped into her father's arms.
"My little love," he said and picked her up.
"Mani destroyed my dress but Mummy fixed it," she said, showing her father the nonexistent stain.
"Of course she did, my little witch. Your brother is very sorry. He came to me quite upset."
"He's such a...a...wolf!"
"What's wrong with that?" Niklaus asked.
"I am a witch."
"So is your brother. But you're also both wolves."
"I am not a wolf!"
"Solaya!" Morrigan scolded her daughter.
"I'm sorry, Daddy. You are good wolf," she said and kissed him on the cheek.
"So is your brother and he wants to apologize to you. You will accept, right?" She nodded and Niklaus began to walk her down.
"I'll be right after you," Morrigan told them, she grabbed her phone and called Bonnie.
Bonnie was currently moving around her house. The television was blasting because her brother in law was staying with them that summer. His girlfriend, her cousin Emilia, was on an naturopath healing internship at a Native American Reservation. She regretted it because the brothers could be quite loud when together. On top of that, Bonnie was carrying their first child. The twins cheered and Bonnie rolled her eyes as her phone rang."Hey, we're on our way right now," Bonnie said over the sounds of her loud household. Her brother in law, Shui, was currently watching the Olympic sports on the television in their living room.
"What's that?"
"The damn olympics," she said, "I've been trying not to break the television."
"Just the hormones," Morrigan assured her.
"I wish he cared more," she said, voice cracking.
"Shen cares a lot. He's been so helpful." Bonnie looked over and Shen was at the door with a stern look on his face.
