Late at night on Academy Island, Alexis stood outside a old, broken down building that was in a state of decay and long abandoned before setting a rose down on the ground near the base of the gate.
'Be at peace brother...wherever you are.' Alexis thought, looking over the building sadly. She was there to pay her missing brother a visit.
There was a faint breeze behind her.
She then decided it was a good time to go back before she caught a cold due to the temperature.
Meanwhile
Jaden, Syrus and Chumley were telling ghost stories in the red dorm's cafeteria. They had invited Ash to join them.
"I went out into the woods, and underneath the full moon, I see a path leading to a cavern that seems... abandoned!" Syrus said taking his turn.
"Oh really?" Jaden asked interested by the story. "And then what?"
He cleared his throat.
"Then at the back of the cavern I see a mysterious lake. So I go in to look very carefully. And under just the right angle of light, at the very bottom of the lake beyond my reflection, I see a rare and powerful card. Naturally, I go to get it, but when I reach out for it... an arm shoots out of the water, grabs me, and begins to PULL ME INTO THE LAKE! AAAAAHHHHHHHH! HELP ME, NOT THE WATER, NOT THE WATER!" Syrus started clawing at the air, visualizing the experience.
Apparently Syrus had gotten so into his story that he thought he was living it out.
"Water's not so scary." Jaden said, leaning in close.
"Not even dirty swampy water?" Syrus asked.
"You're kidding, right?" Ash sweat dropped at the fact Syrus was afraid of water.
He then got to his feet.
"See ya later." He waved goodbye to the reds and made his way back to the blue boys dorm.
"Still, good story." Jaden said picking up a four-star monster called Earthbound Spirit. "Mid-level scares for a mid-level card." The rules were you had to tell a scary story depending on the level of the monster was.
"All right. Well I think I have a story that'll do the trick. Actually, it's more like a memory. Back when I was a kid, I used to hear sounds. But I'd only hear them really late at night. I'd think I was dreaming, but then... They sounded like voices, but not ones I recognized. I would go to check it out, except whenever I did, there was nothing, nothing at all. Just my cards."
"And?" Syrus and Chumley leaned forward expectantly.
"And that's the end of the story." They groaned in disappointment. Jaden had a big goofy smile on his head.
"Whoa! But you want hear something strange? Lately, I've started hearing them again." Jaden said.
"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Hey I want to join in on the fright fest." Banner's voice spoke loudly near the three Slifer students. He had Pharaoh in his arms. Chumley ran to the wall again and Syrus fell off his chair. Only Jaden remained sitting, although he was no less surprised.
"You just did!" Syrus and Chumley hollered.
"We're kind of on the edge of our seats here." Jaden remarked, a little shaken.
"Or at least we were a second ago." Syrus got up and sat on their chairs again. "But since you're here why don't you draw a card? The tougher it is, the scarier your story has to be." Syrus explained.
