Not long after Ash and the others come back to Duel Academy
Dorothy, the academy's card shop owner, was giving directions to some men.
"Booster packs go there and starter decks go there you guys!"
She was about to yell something else to them when a noise caused her to stop. She turned and looked down at the waves that crashed against the side. She was sure she had heard something, but it must have been her imagination.
Shrugging, she turned back to see the workers were no longer moving the boxes as they were now staring at her.
"I didn't tell you to take a break!" She clapped her hands again. "Keep moving."
If she had continued paying attention to the water instead of the men, she would've noticed a dark shape beneath the waves. The shape made it's way over to a bed of large rocks. When it was close enough, the shape reached the surface and pulled itself onto the nearest rock.
It was a man with long hair tied in a ponytail. As he climbed onto the rock, he pulled his snorkel off and looked up at the building in the center of the island.
He smiled as he looked up at the building.
"There it is, the scoop of a lifetime: Duel Academy." He began to remove his wet suit, eyes glued on the building.
"Now let's what kind of dirt can be dug up that will make me a fortune." He laughed.
"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!" A voice cried out.
Crowler slammed his hands down on the table he, Banner, Chancellor Sheppard and other major faculty members were having a meeting at. Zane was also present, standing off to the side.
"The School Duel between Duel Academy and North Academy is the biggest match of the year!" Crowler shrieked, protesting the decision. "We can't take any chances, so it's clear Zane should be our representative."
He pointed in Zane's direction, insisting the Kaiser represent the academy.
Sheppard nodded.
"Zane's our best student. But I've received word that North Academy will be using a first-year student." He explained.
"Why would they do that?" Crowler demanded.
Chancellor Sheppard shrugged as a response.
"Who knows, but in the spirit of competition I think we should use a first-year student as well." He turned to the upperclassmen. "You understand, don't you Zane?"
Zane nodded. "Of course, Chancellor."
"The only question left is what first year should it be...?"
Zane then stepped forward.
"I have someone in mind." He spoke.
The teachers were eager to find out more.
"Which first year student do you suggest competes in the school duel?"
"The only person on the island who managed to end a duel with me in a draw." Zane replied.
With Ash
He was presently laying on the bed in his dorm room.
Back at Duel Academy
Crowler was thinking about the same thing as Zane.
'That Ketchum boy.' Crowler thought. 'I can humiliate Jaden and ruin him in the process.'
