Dawson's POV:

The police escorted me and my family into the testing center. When we got into the testing center, the head people tell my parents that only my mom and dad could stay inside, everyone else would need to wait out in the car. The nurse hands me a paper to fill out,

Age: 16

Birthday: 09/24/2168

Species: Human

Height: 5'6

Weight: 130 lbs.

Since I had to have a police escort to the testing center, they let my parents come back with me to get my height and weight taken. "Dawson is currently weighing in at 112 lbs. That is an eighteen-pound loss from his last recorded weight." The nurse takes my paperwork and gives my parents a concerned look. My mother looks up her phone,

"He's just grieving isn't it kind of normal for weight loss during grief?" The nurse gives her a weird look.

"Well, he has lost too much weight and I think you should realize that this isn't good for his health. Have you thought about putting him in a grief counseling course? It would be in his best interest I could request they enroll him in one once he gets to his future school."

"That won't be necessary isn't that right Dawson?" This time my father spoke up, I shrugged at him. My mother glared at me; I could tell she wanted a different answer.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I could tell the nurse wasn't impressed but she dropped the matter.

"Well Dawson you can with me to meet with the test specialist and you parents can go wait in the waiting room, Dawson will be back in an hour." With that I was led into a new room where they asked me a bunch of questions and told me to answer them honestly. I then felt a pinch in my arm and tensed up, slowly I drifted to sleep.

As I awoke, I was extremely nauseous the nurse quickly handed me a bucket as I vomited. When I finished the nurse handed me a bottle of water and my new I.D. card.

I stood there frozen looking at my new I.D. I was a little? This didn't make sense to me, it wasn't possible. The nurse gently led me into another room, this being smaller with someone at a desk. The nurse indicated for me to sit down while she went to get my parents. I look up as the lady at the desk clears her throat. "Hi there sweetheart, I know this is a lot to process but there are some decisions that need to be made before your parents come in here as they are your choice, and we don't want their presence to influence that." I just nod at her.

"So, you got enrolled in your top choice of school so when would you like to start your education there?"

"When is the latest I can start?" I ask avoiding eye contact. She looked surprised like she had never heard that question before in her career.

"Um, well let's see here." She starts to type on her computer. "It looks like the term is just about to end so you could wait until the new one begins on the thirteenth of December." I nod at her implying that is what I want to do. The door opens and I snap my head back to see my parents enter the room. They come and sit with me at the desk and my father holds his hand out. I pass him my I.D. and watch as disappointment flows into their eyes. I just sink into my seat as my parents discuss the plans for my schooling and their special requests and concerns as the desk lady just fills my chart out. I got special plans put in place so as not to rush me into trying new things out and getting into a relationship right away.

As the desk lady finished, she told us we were good to go, with that my dad handed my I.D. back and my mom roughly grabbed my arm dragging me back to the car. I tune the ride out most of the ride home all I remember is my I.D. getting passed around and all the different reactions from my siblings.
