•Part five

"Get to work and I'll let you know privately who your parter is for the upcoming project!" Professor Slughorn told the whole class.

You were so nervous to find out who your partner was for the assignment. You just wanted it to be someone good who would actually talk to you and do the work at the same time.

The class was split into the Slytherins and the Gryffindors, so you had a bit of a good chance at a decent partner.

"I think I'm gonna be stuck with your brother for this one, Dani." Astoria said to you.

"How come?" You asked her.

"I don't know. I just have some kind of sick feeling that I'll be paired with him." She said. "I don't want to."

"He's bad, but he isn't that bad." You said to her and then both of you laughed. "Okay, maybe he is a bit bad..."

Astoria went to say something else but then Professor Slughorn approached the table that you four were sat reading at. He gave everyone their partner and assignment one by one, leaving you for last.

Lorenzo got paired with another Slytherin... Pansy Parkinson, which he was not happy about. Camilla had to go with a Gryffindor, Hermione Granger, who was actually very smart and she didn't kind her, so she was okay with that.

Astoria did in fact get paired with your twin brother. You had absolutely no idea how she knew that she would be, but she did get paired with him. She wasn't over the moon with her partner as she knew he wasn't going to do any work, but it could have been way worse.

"That leaves me with just you, Miss Malfoy!" Slughorn exclaimed. "I have down here that you are a very hard worker and come from a good family, that's always a good thing!"

"Thank you, sir!" You said with a smile.

"Anyways... you will be working with Mr Nott for this one." He told you.

"Theodore Nott?" You asked him.

"That's the one! It says here that he is also very hard working but can sometimes get a bit off track, I think the two of you would work quite well together." Slughorn said. "I trust that you'll keep him in line for me."

"I'll try my best for you, sir." You said to him and he smiled. "Thank you."

Slughorn moved onto the next table to tell them their partners. As soon as he was gone you let out a huge sigh.

You could not believe that you were paired with your brother's annoying best friend for this project. You knew he wouldn't do any of the work and would leave it all up to you.

"I mean, it could be worse." Lorenzo said.

"It couldn't get any worse! Did you not hear what he said earlier!?" You asked him. "I cannot work with him, he is infuriating!"

"I'm sure he wants to work with you, though!" Camilla exclaimed and pointed to something behind you.

Theodore Nott was on his way over to your table from the other side of the classroom, a smirk on his face. You shook your head and walked over to him, meeting him half way.

"Looks like we're partners for this project, Malfoy." Theodore said to you with a wink.

"Unfortunately." You sighed, rolling your eyes and the boy.

"You say that now, but I'm gonna make sure you have a lot of fun working with me." He said to you.

"Good luck with that one, Nott." You said.

"Non ho bisogno di fortuna, amore mio, ho tutta la fortuna che ho." Theodore said.

"What?" You asked him.

"Nothing." He told you.

"Whatever." You said. "Meet me at the library tonight at six."

"So soon? You just can't get enough of me, can you, Danielle?" Theo asked you, giving you a wink.

You ignored him purposefully getting your name wrong, you knew he wouldn't listen to what you had to say.

"I want to get this over and done with as soon as possible." You told him. "Don't be late."

"You've got it." He said.

You turned back around and walked back to your table, Theodore doing the same.

"I hate him so much." You angrily said.

The rest of the day flew by. You went to your last two classes alone as they were the ones you were taking by yourself. After you had finished all of your classes for the day, you joined to with your friends outside at the quidditch stadium.

Lorenzo was getting his stuff ready for his quidditch match that was in just a few days. All of you were surprised that they had scheduled one so soon into the school year, but it was just a cancelled one from last year.

"Have you thought about trying out for the team this year, Astoria?" Lorenzo asked.

"I don't have to, Draco already told me that there is a guaranteed spot for me on the team whenever I want it." Astoria told him but she then shook her head. "And before you get any ideas, no. I don't want to join the team again."

"How come?" Camilla asked her.

"It's just so annoying." She said. "I'd be the only girl on the team and everyone would try to aim for me, it's so unfair."

"It does get pretty brutal up there, I always see it." You said, defending Tori's side.

"Exactly! Everyone would go so hard on me because I'm a girl, I would die up there in the sky." Astoria exclaimed.

"If you don't want to be the only girl on the team, then you two can join her." Enzo said and turned to look and Camilla and you.

"Fuck off, no." Camilla said.

"Not a chance." You added on.

"Why not?" He asked you and her.

"I have way too much going on, too many classes, too many assignments already, I just don't have the time." You said. "And, I am not going to be in my brother's shadow for yet another thing."

"I simply can't be bothered." Camilla told the boy and he rolled his eyes.
