Johnny stares at me, his jaw on the floor.
"Eww, Johnny, I can see what you ate three days ago. Close your mouth, please."
He blinks and closes his mouth. I smile at him. When I'm about to say something, I get a massive headache. I gasp and fall to the floor. It feels like my head is exploding. Suddenly, I hear a very familiar voice."Angel? Can you hear me? Are you there?"
Despite the massive headache, I smile and begin to cry.
"Steve! How... I thought the chip wouldn't work..."
"Angel! Thank god, you're okay! I was worried out of my mind! Where are you? Tony said ... Nevermind, just tell me where you are, then I can come get you."
"You... You can't. I think, I think I'm in another dimension. I don't know how to get back, but I'm in the second other dimension. At first, I was with a team called the X-men, and now I'm with a bunch of other superheroes. I don't know their names, but there's this guy who looks like you a lot. And I've been attacked already in the first half hour I'm here."
"I'll find something, I promise. I'll get you back home, don't worry. But I have to go. I'm ..."
The second he's gone, the headache softens, until it's gone completely. I'm still crying, and I notice Johnny is holding me. He's gently stroking my head. I sit up straight and walk to the bed.
"Thanks, Johnny."
He joins me at the bed.
"What was that?" He asks.
I shrug. I don't really feel like explaining. He nods and we walk to the living room. I see the other three heroes sitting at the table, and a fourth person has joined them. She's sitting next to Ben. She looks in our direction.
"Jeez, Johnny! They invented something called a shower, you know! You smell like you haven't been showering for a solid week! And who's that lovely lady you have there?" the woman asks. Johnny laughs and walks me to her.
"Angel, this is Alesha(I don't know if you write it that way), Alesha, this is Angel. And I showered this morning."
Alesha put her hand out for me to shake, but it missed mine completely. Then I figured she was blind. I saw the walking cane in the corner. I shook her hand and smiled at her.
"Nice to meet you!" I said. I looked at Johnny. He got an extra chair and put it in between the Thing, or Ben, and Reed. I'm not really comfortable in between two guys I don't even know, so I'm a bit tense. Ben seems to notice an pats me on the shoulder. I cringe.
"I'm sorry!" He says. "I didn't mean to hurt you! I just don't know my own strength sometimes..."
I smile at him.
"Don't worry. It's just that my shoulder was dislocated only a few minutes ago, that's why it hurt."
Reed looks at me.
"Dislocated? What were you doing? Did Johnny do that?" he asks. I laugh and Johnny looks offended.
"I didn't do anything! It was Von Doom! He blew a hole in the side of the wall, took Angel and tried to strangle her, but she threw him through the the hole he made. Before he fell, he grabbed her leg and she almost fell too. She grabbed a loose cable though, but her arm dislocated. I think Von Doom wasn't expecting that." Now everyone was looking at me. I looked at my feet. I didn't like being the centre of attention.
"Then he'll be back." Reed said. "He can't stand being beaten. He'll come back to kill you, Angel."
I grimaced.
"I'd like to see him try." I said.
"With pleasure!" Someone yelled from behind us.
I whipped my head around so fast that it hurt my neck. Behind me was the man we had been talking about just a minute ago. Before I could make a move, he shot at me. It was not a normal bullet, but a sort of tranquilizer dart. It was extremely powerful, and I couldn't move. Even breathing became really hard. I was panicked out of my mind and my eyes searched for the rest of the team. I saw Sue's blond hair laying on the floor and Johnny fell down next to me. He seemed to be in the same position as me. Suddenly I was moving. I looked up and saw Von Doom had grabbed my feet and was dragging me to the door. What freaked me out the most was the fact that I couldn't do anything to stop him, and that I didn't feel a thing. He put me in a sort of van and about an hour later I was dragged out. I fell down a flight of stairs, but again, didn't feel a thing. I groaned mentally at the thought of the pain that would come later and gave Von Doom a death glare. He laughed and kicked me in the stomach. Then he pulled me up and tied me to a chair. He grabbed my pinkie and sat down in the chair opposite of me.
"I'm gonna ask you some questions." he said. "Every wrong answer, is a broken finger. You'll notice you can move a little now, just enough to talk. Now, let's start. What is your name?"
I decided to play along, and later find out how to escape. And if I could move a little again, it meant that whatever it was that was paralyzing me, was starting to wear off. Soon, the others would come searching for me. All I had to do was stall time.
"Why do you want to know?" I asked. It was still difficult to move my lips, and my speech was slurred.
"Wrong answer." he said. He bent my pinkie back, and a sickening snap filled the silence. He grabbed my ring finger.
"Lets story that again, shall we? Now, what's your name?"
"Angel Judith Storm."
I think he smiled, but I couldn't really tell because of his iron mask.
"Why were you with the fantastic four?"
I didn't want to tell him the truth, so I pretended to swallow while I was thinking of a lie.
"I'm Johnny's girlfriend. I was at his place because my apartment is being renovated."
He seemed to think about that for a second, and he bought it.
"How were you able to take me down?"
Now things were starting to get tricky. He could never know that I am a superhero.
"I take material arts classes."
He nodded.
"You flew. How did you do that?"
Shit. He did see my wings.
"I was able to hold on to a loose cable."
He shook his head and snapped my finger back. Now he grabbed my middle finger.
"You fell. I pulled you down with me."
"When you pulled me down, the cable shot loose. Luckily for me, it got stuck again and Johnny was able to pull me up."
Von Doom laughed evilly and broke the rest of my fingers.
"Now, you're not of use for me anymore. I can only use you as bait."
He pulled out a green cape similar to his and draped it around my shoulders. After that, he tied me to a wooden pole in the middle of the room. He put duck tape on my mouth, then starting punching me. I think I must have blacked out, because the next thing I know, is that Von Doom is shining a flashlight in my face.
