𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐭 𝐙𝐨𝐞̈, I started to see her in a different light. Sure, she had thousands of years on me. But deep down even if she had a stone-cold facade, she was still like the rest of us. Emotional.

"Look...I've only been on...1 quest. And it taught me a lot about myself, my power...sometimes we can't control everything that happens. And even you can't do that. And don't come at me with any sort of argument. I get you think you should've left with Artemis, should've pushed Bianca back...don't do that." I told her as she stared at me.

I sighed out, "I don't have as many years as you do. And I can never imagine what a Hunter's life is like. But I do know that even I cannot take down Poseidon in my wildest dreams. Just like you cannot protect Artemis from everything."

With that she didn't speak on the situation further, she suddenly looked over at Grover and Percy, "you Satyr. Switch." She demanded and Thalia looked at me as Grover whined.

My dragon swayed its tail towards the boy's canoe as Grover and Zoë switched places. She didn't seem angry but neither did I want to say no and maybe piss her off any further.

Grover sat behind me as I looked ahead seeing Thalia staring at me.

"That was nice...what you told Zoë." She muttered and I shrugged my shoulders "sometimes we can't be as powerful as we want. We can't control everything."

Thalia smiled at me, and I smiled back as suddenly she brought up, "so...was it true? You and your mom were..." I shut her mouth instantly before the next word, Grover didn't know, and I didn't want Percy or him to know.

"Yes, but can we not talk about it when..." My eyes looked to the side to aim at Grover and thankfully Thalia got the point and respected my wishes.

"I had a mom too...she passed away." She brought it up and I looked at her and grieved for her "I'm so sorry..."

She smiled telling me, "After summer I went to look for her...found out she died 2 years ago in an accident. Car crash...my mom and I never had a good relationship which is why I had run away."

"And then you met Luke..." the words left my mouth smoothly like whipped cream.

Her reaction was somewhat shocking, but not as much. She knew Luke and I maybe...had something serious. Whatever Percy told her.

"Yeah, he kept me safe. We were...best friends. Are...best friends." She let out, I knew that look, the look in her eyes. Instantly jealousy crept my shoulders.

"Well...uhm...did you...like Luke?" I asked her bluntly and she looked at me surprised I had even brought that up.

Seeing her grow in hesitance she looked at me and nodded "yeah. He protected me when no one else did."

I frowned and nodded my head trying to force a smile to replace the stupid frown.

"But it seems like feelings change and grow and become different after some years." She had brought up and I sighed, adjusting myself in my seat as we saw the cliffs growing bigger at the side of the river.

The area became shady and cold instead of the original warmth it was. I wasn't wet but Thalia and Grover were and slightly shivering. Just up ahead we saw a huge dam covering our way that my Dragon couldn't take us any farther.

"Hoover Dam..." Thalia muttered as my dragon lifted his head turning to me as I signaled him a thanks and great job.

My dragon nodded as I looked back to the dam that appeared to be the size of a whole sports stadium for like soccer, or football, or something...we saw people on top of the damn just walking idly by as Thalia helped Grover off my dragon and I got off last to say goodbye to him.
