Chapter 16

     I hugged Thomas tightly, bracing ourselves for impact. Seconds went by, and nothing happened."Gabe?" I whispered, praying for a reply. "Yeah?" He responded. I sighed in relief, and let go of Thomas. "Thank God you're all okay!" I saw Ashton nod in agreement. The clock on the bomb was off. 

     "Thomas.. We made it!" I smiled. He quickly stripped the vest off, and gave me a proper hug. I smiled down at the child gripping tightly to my legs. "Thomas.. Let's go!" I said. He looked up at me and grinned. Then his smile turned to a frown. "What's wrong?"I asked, bending down to his level. "My family..." He began to cry. "You can stay with us!" Gabe interrupted him. I turned to face him. "He can what?" I asked. Gabe smiled ,"He can stay with us!" Gabe repeated.

     Thomas looked up at me with his big brown eyes."Can I? Please?" He asked me. I thought about it. We could be a family. We could have a happy life. I smiled , "Of course!" They all cheered at my answer, and joined in for a big group hug. I love them.

     "So.. What about... Noah.." Ashton asked. Oh yeah.... "Oh... Well.. Maybe we can just forget about him. "I suggested."What?! No! After what he did to you?" Gabe retorted. "Look. I understand! But, we have to take care of Thomas! We have to step in for his parents! His family is dead and I am not going on a MAN HUNT with a child!" I yelled at him, hugging the 5 year old closely. Gabe and Ashton just looked at me. 

"Okay.." Gabe finally spoke up. "We take care of the boy-" "Thomas" I corrected. "Thomas... We take care of Thomas, and we move far away from here." Gabe finished. I smiled. Getting away from all the troubles. "I've always wanted to see Cali!" I grinned.

A few hours later....

     All the guards had left. Along with Noah. So, we quickly hopped in the truck. Gabe and Ashton in the front, and Thomas and I in the back. A happy, extraordinary family. On our way to Cali...
