Turning thirty seemed like such a while away to Eddie Kaspbrak when he was younger but now here he was.. Sat in his car driving down the road towards his house, after finishing college he had found himself in an office job before going through different promotions landing himself the job he had now, a Risk Analysis which some would say was very fitting for him due to his past of over thinking everything which didn't change much even going into his adult years.
He let out small hums matching the song that was quietly playing on the radio, he had been driving for a few minutes finally nearing his house. He hated driving in the dark but his job forced him to get out at weird different hours and of course the day of his birthday he was only able to leave at seven, after a long and boring day of work he finally pulls into his driveway letting out a sigh as he steps out of the car throwing his satchel like bag on his shoulder locking the black car he drove behind him. He pull's out his keys to unlock the front door letting out a yawn as he turns it hearing the white wooden door click, "I'm home" he calls out once inside sliding his dress shoes off with another sigh but a smile grows on his face when he hears the sound of nails hurrying off the ground and soon the small dog was rushing over to him his tail wagging like crazy "Hey Buddy, aw I missed you too" Eddie coo's scratching the dog behind his ears his pink drooling tongue hanging out of his mouth.
"Let me guess, is dad asleep already?" Eddie says still wearing his baby voice he always spoke to the dog in while placing his bag down taking a step deeper into the house, "Richie? You alive?" He call's out it was odd not hearing an answer from him even if he was asleep he would hear the tv going.. Was he not here..? Richie hand landed his career as a comedian it only took him a few years before it took off, was Eddie a bit proud to say that his boyfriend was a famous comedian? Yes, yes he was. Back when Eddie was a teen just starting college he had gotten so busy that days of not talking to Richie or any of the group soon turned into month and before he knew it he had nearly forgotten about them.. He felt so awful that he could even do such a thing like forgetting about his bets friends that instead of calling them he hid even more.. It hit three years of not speaking the whole group had accepted that Eddie had forgotten about them which hurt Richie more then anyone.. His boyfriend had left him leaving him without a single word, the hurt lasted for a bit until he had moved on focusing on his own career.. Well that was until some day during their late twenties Mike had gotten a hold of Kaspbrak inviting him to a gathering the group was having, Mike hadn't told them that Eddie was coming so the surprise on their faces was clear when the still short adult walked into the room..
The group forgave him.. Well all of them except Richie who stormed out of the room the minute he saw his face, the pair then had the worst fight the had dealt with during the friendship and short lived relationship.. Eddie knew he had hurt Richie, he explained everything all he wanted to do was be friends again which only lasted a year before their feelings started forming again. The two of them just being friend was impossible the group knew it and soon the two knew it as well, so they gave it another shot.. One month soon turned into Five years, so Richie not being home on his birthday seemed impossible..
Sure Richie had to be away for a while when he went on shows but he made sure to schedule everything so he was home for the weekend.. "Richie?" Eddie call's out again walking down the hallway towards the living room buddy following behind him still happily panting, "Richie-" He goes to call out again as he flicks the lights on but before he could get his words out loud shouts scared him half to death "Happy birthday!" the screams said making him let out a yelp nearly jumping out of his own skin. He look's around letting out a gasp seeing their living room filled with the whole loser's club bright smiles spread across their faces "Assholes! You are all assholes!" Eddie says still trying to came his beating heart, "Happy birthday Babe" Richie smiles stepping in front of him leaning down placing a kiss on his cheek "Dick" Eddie glares at him making him smile.
