Heizou and Kazuha

Growing up in Inazuma, I longed for a Vision. I learnt about the god of each nation and took time to worship each one in the hopes that I might be granted powers. The second I received my Anemo vision, I moved to Mondstadt to continue worshipping Barbatos: He'd granted my wish, after all.

Months later, as evening reached over Mondstadt's walls, I made my way around the Favonius Cathedral. I placed my hand delicately to my mouth to suppress my yawn; how much longer would it be until I could go home and sleep? No, I mustn't think that. I am dedicated to Barbatos above all else. Sleep can wait.

The darkening sky cast a blue-grey shadow onto the stone floors, and the doors to the cathedral were opened to me by the knight on duty. He bowed his head. "Good evening, sister."

"Good evening, sir," I replied. I felt another yawn coming, and quickly stepped past him to enter the cathedral in an attempt to conceal it. I made my way to the pews to join in the evening prayer and hymn to Barbatos.

I heard the familiar, chirpy cackle of Mondstadt's favourite bard and a cool breeze filed through my dress as he stumbled in, arm in arm with two familiar young men wearing Inazuman clothing.

My ex-boyfriends from when I lived in Inazuma: Kazuha and Heizou...
And they knew one another?!

Sister Rosaria cleared her throat and Venti led my exes to the free pew behind me, before approaching the front of the hall and summoning his lyre.

We sang to Barbatos; those of us with Anemo Visions lifting them up in his honour. I heard a magical 'swish' behind me and looked over my shoulder to see that Heizou and Kazuha were also lifting their visions. They grinned at me when they saw me looking at them.

By the time the evening service had finished, I was struggling to keep my eyes open. Venti stopped me as I left the cathedral. "Sister!" He called to me. "I have some fellas I'd like you to meet!"

I stepped to the side so the other nuns and church-attendees would have space to leave. "You look tired," he said. "Have you tried Barbara's Chilibrew? It'll perk you right up!"

"I have," I said as I resisted the urge to rub my eyes. "I dislike spice in beverages."

"Very well, then. Perhaps these two will wake you up!" He pulled Kazuha and Heizou from behind the stone column, a wide smile on his bright face. "They told me they know you, so I'm sure you'd love to catch up!"

I froze, wide-awake, if only for a moment.

Kazuha's hand went to Venti's shoulder. "Venti, we do not know ___ in the way you think we do. Our relationship was much more intimate than Sister ___ have you know." He hesitated at referring to me by my nun title.

"Who'd have thought you'd move to Mondstadt and become a nun? It appears that receiving a vision really did do a number on you," Heizou said to me.

I sighed. "As much as I appreciate the gesture, Venti," I began, "my main priority is my devotion to Barbatos, the god who gave me my vision. I cannot let anything get in the way of that."

"And as one of Barbatos' divine followers myself, I believe that your 24/7 worship is much more than enough and you should take the time to do something enjoyable rather than working all the time."

"But, how will Barbatos know that I love him and I am eternally grateful for being granted a vision?"

Venti's face softened. "He knows. But the Anemo vision represents freedom--" he shoved Heizou and Kazuha toward me-- "so, go and have fun!"

Weary in my fatigue, I led Heizou and Kazuha to my house. Their voices asked how I was; what I had learnt; if I had found another.
