Aurora
A couple weeks later.
I shut my locker quickly and turned around ready to sprint for the bus. I was almost late. But then I knocked into a guy standing behind me.
The same guy who's been following me since the bell rang.
"Let me help you." He knelt down to help me pick my stuff up but I waved him off.
His hair is a dark brown and it is short and moused. He has this naturally furrow in his brow that makes it look like he's mad, opposite to Mr. Andersons welcoming face. He has an objectively attractive guy but I'm not really into stalkers.
"Just leave me alone please." I said, stuffing my books into my bag.
"I'm being nice, why are you acting this way?" He looked offended.
"I have to go."
I finished putting my stuff in my bag and started walking towards an exit.
"Can I get your number?" He began to follow me.
"I don't know you."
"So you can get to know me. I'm Charles by the way." He sped up so now he was in front of me walking backwards
He held out his hand for me to shake it. I didn't.
"OK Charles, I don't have time for this."
"Aurora."
"How do you know my name?"
"I've done my research."
I tried to walk past him again but he blocked me again. "Please I need to go, I'm already late."
"The buses don't leave for 10 minutes."
"I don't take those buses."
"Give me your number and I'll let you go."
"I'm not gonna text you back"
"We'll see."
"Fine." I gave him my number.
"Talk to you later Aurora." He waved and walked the opposite direction
Why can men never take no for an answer.
I checked my watch and quickly walked out the building. I was already running late because I had a couple questions for my math teacher but I thought I could spare them. Obviously not.
The second I left the doors I began to run. It is terribly embarrassing but I would rather not be stranded somewhere with no ride. My parents would likely not even realize I was gone and I would have to wait hours for the next bus.
I turned the corner of the street to the bus stop and watched the bus leave.
Fuck.
I ran after it and waved my hand trying to get the driver's attention but to no avail.
I took the walk of shame back to the bench and weighed my options. My parents rarely even answered my text messages but I'll send them one anyway. The bus comes again in 3 hours. And it would take me about 6 hours to walk.
Well it doesn't look like I have any options.
I pulled out my phone and checked the battery. 32%. Not good at all.
I took a seat on the bench and pulled out my homework instead. I might as well use this time wisely.
