╰┈➤ location: connor's spot

third pov

"Iris..." Connor's voice breaks through the silence like a knife.

A sight to see: your girlfriend kissing her ex. Iris whips her head around to look at the raven haired boy staring at her. "Connie-" "Oh hey Connor" Nate says ever so casually. "Fancy seeing you here" Nate tilts his head and smiles at Connor.

"Really Iris? At our spo- my spot" He doesn't want to believe his eyes. He wishes that he could just wake up and this would all be a dream. Connor's anxiety gets the best of him. And once again he feels like he did when he was little; trying to get away from the tribulations of life. But he can't seem to get away from this one. His feet stay planted and his heart crumbles.

"No, Connor he-" Iris starts. "I don't want to hear it. You know Iris, I really thought I could trust you. I actually brought you to my spot and-" his voice breaks again. "And you just come here and hook up with your ex. I liked you Iris, I really liked you, I thought I might even love you. But now... I never want to see you, ever again."

It broke his heart to say, and he didn't mean a single word. But he turned around and left. A faint, "Connie" is all he heard besides his own heart beat. It was getting louder and it felt like it was consuming him. The boy stumbles through the woods, tears forming in his eyes.

For once in his life he felt special, his whole life he would always be in his brother's shadow. But Iris made him feel like he mattered. Its getting hard to breathe, vision blurry, Connor keeps trudging through the woods. Footsteps linger behind him which makes the brunette walk faster. Now he's running, running from this problems like always. He just can't face this one, not right now.

Finally, Connor makes it out of the woods. Breathing heavy, he runs once more to his house. Fumbling with his keys, he eventually unlocks his front door. "Connor?" his sister, Madi, says. The moment she sees him, she pulls him into a hug. Connor really doesn't want to embarass himself, but he silently cries into her shoulder. After a little they pull away, "Do you want to talk about it?" The younger boy shakes his head and starts toward the stairs. "I'm always here if you need me!" Madi yells up to her brother who slowly makes his way up the stairs.

Once upstairs, Connor goes to his bedroom and flops onto his bed. He lays there for what feels like twenty minutes just thinking about where he could've possibly gone wrong. The boy's phone buzzes. There was about fifty notifications from Iris. Ignoring them, he unlocks his phone.
