SILENCE. Not a single person or thing moved. The only thing heard were heartbeats. Intertwined. Connected, beating as one. Wired. Knitted so closely together, it's suffocating.
Neither heart knowing what to say or do. Both quiet and lying, still from what had just happened.
Finally, waves began to crash again. People began to talk. Cars honking, driving by. Their blinks becoming faster, movement.
The kids stare at each other. Unknowing, innocent, naive, young. All they know is that they're safe in each others arms.
one week time skip
"WE get it, you guys like each other" Pheobe yells out. The two teens blush, embarrassed. They shift uncomfortably before Gracie says, "Pheobs be nice" through her teeth. Feeling bad, she smiles at the new couple.
Iris and Connor haven't been able to separate from each other since the night at the beach. Their whole friend group is now looking at them because of Pheobe's comment.
Currently, the group is gathered in the living room of the Brooks household. The blonde and the brunette are living in their own world and continue to silently giggle and talk to one another. Although no one really says anything when Cal and Austin do it (as bros, of course).
"I am not about to spend my summer watching these two canoodle inside, when I can go out and party and shake my ass" Cal complains. "Never say 'canoodle' ever again" Xochitl scrunches her nose up, clearly not liking the word.
"It's true" he whines. "I mean we could go somewhere" Brady suggests, completely ignoring Cal. "Like the amusement park!" Gracie exclaims loudly. "I'm sorry that was loud" she mumbles while covering her mouth. Pheobe takes Gracie's hand and removes it from her mouth, before whispering something into her ear making Gracie smile.
"You know that's actually perfect, Gracie" Austin agrees. Gracie smiles even bigger because of the compliment. "There's one not too far from here that we can go to" Austin adds.
