Chapter 5

Elizabeth hadn't slept in for a long time since the twins were born, she suddenly jumped up. The bed was empty but she could hear noises from the kitchen, Annie walking out of the kitchen with a coffee mug in her hand she winked at Beth pasting her in the hallway  Beth just rolled her eyes. She slowly creep into the living space and Rio was cooking breakfast, Christopher on the floor happily playing and Isabella watching Rio in the highchair as he moved around like he knew the place.
"Morning Ma" As he kissed her on the lips.
Beth was stunned and a bit shocked he was still here. "I changed their nappies and fed them I got a few errands to do today but I can come over an see you guys later? I'll take you's out for lunch my treat".
"sure, I'm going to see Ruby at the hospital I should be back by then, you know you didn't have to stay?"
"I wanted to".
They ate breakfast together watching over the twins, once they cleaned up. He even stayed so Beth could shower and get ready for the day. He got the twins dressed for the day while he played with them on the floor. Beth walked out and her eyes swelled up. This will be hard when she has to leave in 9 days back to Cali, but she wanted the twins to build a relationship with him no matter what.

As he kissed the baby's goodbye, they stood at the door he gently cupped her face as he stared into her blue eyes gently kissed her it was intense like he never wanted to let go.

"I'll meet you at the hospital just message when you're ready".

Rio's Pov: when I heard the twins were up, I looked at Elizabeth with her hair on her face she looked so peaceful, so I got up had a quick shower tending to the baby's changing their nappies and getting them ready for breakfast. I don't know how Elizabeth does this plus 4 other kids. All he knew was that Rio needed to get his house in order and he knew where to start first.

When he was walking back to his car, he called Rhea,
"You home?"
"yeah"
"I'm coming over be 20 minutes".

Rio and Rhea had a complicated relationship they started out as fuck buddies nothing serious till she got pregnant, she never liked that his business was before her and Marcus. They never worked as a couple but worked better as co-parents. The lines were blurred once Elizabeth disappeared, he felt no emotions he was running on anger and just needed someone and that someone was Rhea.

He knew he had to tell her what was going on specially if he wanted Marcus to have a relationship with his siblings.

As he knocked on her door, she wasn't to happy to see him.

"Well, what's up Chris?"
"I meet up with Elizabeth, and the twins they are mine and I want Marcus to meet them".
"No way Chris, I'm not letting that crazy bitch near our son when did you fall for someone like that, she's to surbrian for you".
"This isn't about her I want him to know he has siblings".
"What about us Chris?"
"What about us? we just co-parent when we slept together it was nothing serious?! I just want my kids to know each other, it's not that hard to understand Rhea" 

Rhea looked down, she knew deep down her and Rio were nothing she just liked having his attention on her ever since Elizabeth started working for him, he never touched her till she disappeared he came back to her.

"If you ever think you get this after she leaves again don't bother calling me for sex again....... Take Marcus on Saturday I have work anyways but if she ever fucks up again you won't ever see him around his siblings not if she's there".
"Thanks rhea" as he walked to the door he could see her eyes watering he knew he hurt her but he finally had his chance to make emends with his biggest regret a year ago.

He called his grandma, and said he wanted her to meet few special people, he wanted to ask Elizabeth first on how she felt meeting his grandma the most precious person to him in his life. He wanted his grandma to meet the twins as well as Elizabeth she meant something to him, he just didn't know what.
Went to his loft for a change of clothes and put some spare in duffle bag in case he stayed over again.
Rio went to the baby store got cars seats installed for the twins. Called mick to see how everything was running and Mick said everything was fine. He let mick he would off grid for few days to spend some time with his kids while they were here, to only call for emergency's.

Beth's Pov: Walking to the hospital was only a 15 min walk from the apartment. Once she seen Ruby out in the foyer, they went to the cafeteria for a catch-up coffee. She told her Rio found her because Rhea saw them coming out the elevators on the first day they came over and she seen the twins there was nowhere to run and hide. Then another bombshell Ruby's face was priceless with her Jaw dropping to the floor, that the twins had met Rio, and he was so in love with them and how the twins naturally gravitated to him. She didn't say anything about them having sex. She mentioned now he was going to take them out for lunch after here.

"Girl, gang friend has it hard for you".
"What do you mean hard? No he doesn't it's probably everything mixed with seeing the twins an catching up it is a lot to deal with"
Ruby laughed "You have no clue, B"

Beth knew there was something with Rio She didn't want to explain it after all this time apart she truly thought their attraction would have died down or he would of meet someone else. Beth had no time for anyone surely no fuckbuddies not with 6 kids in tow.

Ruby and Beth walked down to Sarah's room and talked more about what Sarah needed for treatment. The twins were so excited to see Stan and Sarah that she almost lost track of time. As she was packing to leave, she sent a message to Rio
"Ready"

Wasn't even 5 mins and there he was in the hospital foyer car entry waiting bay leaning on his car, God he looked so good dressed in a black button up and jeans as always. He just exudes confidence like he doesn't have to try.

"Hey mama"
"Have you been waiting for long".
"Nah I was in the area, come I got seats installed for the twins so I can drive you around now" he smiled.
"You didn't have to, that's why I booked an apartment close to the hospital, so I didn't need to bring their car seats".
"it's Allgood, Ma I wanted to".

As he pushed on his key fob for the boot to open, he helped Elizabeth with the twins each grabbing a baby and strapping them to their seats. Beth showed him how to fold the pram up and he lifted it to his boot.

"Might need a bigger car" he winked.
Beth laughed. The G-wagon was already big but defiantly not a mum van.

As they drove away from the hospital, he put his hand out for Elizabeth's hand and wrapped his fingers with hers like it was natural.

He parked in front of an Italian restaurant, he got Christopher while Beth was holding Isabella got the baby's seated in a highchair while Rio sat across from Beth. Suddenly, she was nervous it felt quite intimate, but it was a nice gesture.


A young boy server introduced himself, Mat he was probably freshly out of college sat us down to take our order.

"Hey boss what would you like today?" 
Boss? Beth's pulled up and eyebrow.
"Can you warm these for me for the babies" grabbing the pouches.
"Large margarita and your special pasta dish, want a drink ma?"
"Peach iced tea for me please" "same for me to" he replied.
"Ok done boss shouldn't be too long, cute kids hey".

Rio waved him off with a cheeky grin.

"So, boss huh?"
"Yes, one of my legit investments"
"it's nice, love the set up doesn't feel to modern or over done".
"One to my top earners to" he smiled.

As they were feeding the babies each their food came over, Rio told her to eat first while he finished up with the twins, they sat happily playing with the spoons and toys Beth had brought for them. As they finished eating their lunch Rio could not help but smile when he saw their twins and Beth, the emptiness he felt when she left now he felt fulfilled like this was the missing piece this whole time.

"Hey ma, I've got Marcus on Saturday ok for the twins to meet him at the park near you?"
"Should be fine, I'll pack a picnic for us".
"Good, good ummm I also want you meet my grandma?"
Beth eyes widened "really? When?"
"Why not? Sunday good? I really want her to meet you and the twins before you go back".
"Ok I guess"

Beth was worried that it was good to be true like this was a side of Rio she never she would see ever. It must be the twins that brought out this soft side of him, but he still had a dark side the gang leader in him that she would never forget about. She hesitated to give her all to him. They drove back to her apartment and got the twins settled for their nap. She wanted to ask more questions like how's this going to work with her being in Cali with her new life now, him king of Detroit. It was a recipe for disaster she thought to herself. But she put it in the back of mind she was willing to put aside for the twin's sake for them to know their dad. As they laid in her bed, they both fell asleep with her in his arms like it always meant to be.

Rio stayed for dinner and bath time again overnight. She never felt so much passion never with dean ever but with Rio it was another level.
