Chapter 7

Beth was starting to miss her other kids she tried to facetime as much as could when it was before school, bedtimes or before school, but they were quite busy. She was so thankful she could afford fulltime care and having Nancy and Greg to give Sammy a break with the kids but felt guilty being here away from them. Beth only had 6 more days before her flight she felt like it was pulling her two ways. She loved her new life she built for herself in California, but her heart and desires were in Detroit.

Beth and Rio were in their bubble in happy domestic bliss, but she had never been to his place, he barely spoke about his other life. It was like his other life didn't exist, but she knew how dangerous It could be specially with the twins now, their dad was a gang leader.

Rio's mind had been racing about when Beth would go back, he knew he had his obligations here and she was proud of what she made of herself in Cali, he couldn't ask her to come here an restart over again it wasn't fair since he's the reason she disappeared in the first place. Could he see himself moving for her? Rios been wanting to be more legit since seeing the twins he wants to be with them for a long time not a short time. He's going to flip his game real soon just needs to figure out which direction he's going.

Beth pov: This morning she was going over to see Sarah with the twins while Ruby and Stan had few errands to run, I didn't mind as we were staying close by the hospital. We had been there for couple hours chilling with Sarah before Ruby and stan got back. Me and Ruby decided to do our coffee catch up before I left to put the kids down for a nap. I told her about Marcus and his grandma and how I met his whole family and that we had been sleeping together.

"I knew it!"
"How?"
"B, I've known you since what 14 I'm not stupid" laughed Ruby
"Is it good?"
"Like crazy good I never had that with Dean ever! it was more about him getting off but with him it's like he wants me to be to be satisfied before he is and he's gentle and full of passion arghh".
"Gees, girl you are getting hot there" fanning herself ruby laughed.
"I think I'm falling for him, but I don't want to scare him off you know I've only ever been with dean, and Rio like I've never dated.... I can't I've got 6 kids who would want me?"
"Have you told him?"
"No way!"
"You will never know Hun tell him he might surprise you? If not, you go back to Cali and move on".
"I don't know if I can it's like my heart has always been here, I just didn't know it till I came back".
"Wow that's deep B".
Ruby and Beth hugging each other.


Saying their goodbyes Beth was coming back in a few days so Ruby could have a break. As Beth was walking out, she bumped into Rhea again, she was cold and distant to Beth.


"Have I done something Rhea?"
"Yeah! you shot my sons father left him for dead and then came running back like you're a new family now how does he even know the twins are his? did he do the test? You could have slept with anyone to say it was his".
"I would never! you don't know me, and you don't know what he put me through before, I was already pregnant when he kidnapped me to shot an FBI agent what did you expect for someone like me to do, I was scared shitless"
"It was better when you were gone!"
"Why so you could have him all to yourself, he does what he wants to do you should know this. It's not my fault he wants this".
"He goes stupid when your around!"
"he's grown man, it's not my problem you fell for him I don't know what happened when I left but it's on him not me"?
"I picked him back up when you left".
"Like I said what ever happened before I don't care he wants to know his kids don't take it out on me with whatever you're feeling for him"?
"Bitch! you don't know how I'm feeling."
"Sure, you don't need to convince me I've got to go the twins are tired".

She walked off angrily as Rhea stood there with her fist by her side seething in frustrations. 

When Beth got back to the apartment, she was so angry with Rhea like she was his knight and shining armour, and I ruined it for her. she has no idea what Beth had to go through 6 kids in a new state. Rio was waiting for them at the apartment he knew something went down because Beth slammed the door when she got back in.

"What happened Elizabeth?"
"Your baby Mumma is what happened argh".
"Help me put the twins down please I'll tell you after".

Rio tiptoed around Beth putting Isabella down then while Beth got Christopher down. It had been an exhausting morning for Beth. Once everything had settled, she finally spoke to Rio.

"You need to get your house in order'.

Rios pov: Soon as she walked through the door, I just knew something happened, she didn't kick up a fuss though, she was calm maybe to calm. He knew he would have to deal with rhea sooner or later. He had to tell her how he was feeling, he was hoping to talk once Elizabeth was back in Cali. It's had to be now nothing would stop him from seeing his kids and her.

I needed Elizabeth to know how I felt so I grabbed her our bodies were so close, I cupped her face looking at her bright blue eyes and gave her the most intense kiss since being here with her.
"I will fix this ok".
As he walked out the door his fingers were on the phone sending her a text

Rhea: I'm coming over we to need to talk

When I got to Rhea's the door was unlocked. Rhea was sitting at the kitchen table with a drink in her hand.
"don't you think it's abit early for that".
she shrugged her shoulders.
"Why does it matter you? You're too busy playing happy families with miss suburbia".
"I'm spending time with my babies, I missed out on a lot I'm just trying to make it up to them".
"Yeah, because that bitch left and ran away with your babies Chris".
"No, she ran away from me because I scared her Rhea not because I didn't know she was pregnant, I knew before she left, I just didn't know they were twins".
"Why would you come over here when she was gone and sleep with me, spend time like a family that just plays with my head".
"I know my head was messed up when she left ... I'm sorry".

Rhea was looking up at Rio before he knew it, she kissed him, she was pulling at his t-shirt. Pulling him in closer.... Then he pushed her off him by the shoulders
"Stop Rhea! I can't"
"Why? Are you in love with her something" she scoffed 
"It's not your business, I'm sorry Rhea that I can't give you what you want we're better when we co-parent...."
"Leave !"
"please don't take it out on Elizabeth its on me.. Bye Rhea take care yeah?"

I rushed out fast as I could. My mind was racing how am I going to explain this to her. I couldn't lie to her not now as we were learning to trust each other.

Beth's Pov: He came back few hours later, he looked distance something must have happened, but I wasn't going to press him about it. It was up to him to tell me. I was feeding the twins, so I was already keeping my mind busy with them. He kissed the babies on the head and came over to me putting his finger from the top of my fringe tracing my face to my chin and just looked at me, like he was taking my features in.
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing just looking" he smiled softly.
I just smiled I didn't know how to react.

He helped clean the twins after their lunch played with them for a bit before their nap.
"Elizabeth, can you get Annie to mind them tomorrow night? I want to take you out on a date?"
"Really?" why?"
"Something happened with Rhea and It made me realise I don't want to lose this with us.... She tried to me kiss Elizabeth .... But I don't have any feelings for her...... I want you!"

Beth stunned with her mouth open it took her a minute before she gathered herself. She wasn't angry just taken by surprise.

"Promise me one thing... you hurt me I'm out I'm not dealing with another dean situation I'm not that shell of a person who gets walked over".
