As the soft tendrils of sleep enveloped you, you drifted into a peaceful slumber, cocooned in the warmth of Kayn's presence. Morning soon rose as the gentle rays of light seeped through the slits of your window curtains.
But when you finally stirred awake, the gentle rhythm of his breathing no longer beside you, a pang of panic shot through you.
Blinking groggily, you sat up, the remnants of sleep clinging to your mind as you scanned the room. But Kayn was nowhere to be found, his absence sending a jolt of anxiety coursing through your veins.
For a moment, you feared the worst, your mind racing with all sorts of scenarios. Did he leave while you were sleeping? Was it all just a dream?
But just as panic threatened to consume you, the sound of the bathroom door opening drew your attention. With a sense of relief flooding through you, you turned to see Kayn emerging from the bathroom, his hair tousled and his eyes still heavy with sleep.
As he stretched and yawned, a lazy smile tugged at the corners of your lips. The tension in your chest easing at the sight of him.
With a soft sigh of relief, you watched as Kayn shuffled back towards the bed, his movements slow and deliberate as if he hadn't fully woken up yet. His tousled hair and sleepy demeanor only added to his charm, and you couldn't help but fall for him even more.
"Morning," Kayn mumbled, his voice still husky with sleep as he settled back onto the bed beside you.
"Morning," you replied, unable to suppress the smile that tugged at your lips. "Slept well?"
Kayn nodded, his voice dripping like honey as he hummed in reply. "Like a log," he admitted, his eyes fluttering closed as he snuggled closer to you, seeking warmth and comfort amidst the cold air of the air conditioner.
As Kayn nestled closer to you, his warmth enveloping you like a comforting embrace. The temptation to lean in and press your lips against his was almost irresistible, but you held back, not wanting to push things too far too quickly.
"If you wanted a kiss, you could've said so, weirdo." Kayn chuckled, leaning close to press a kiss on your temple.
You chuckled at Kayn's playful remark, feeling a warmth spread through you at his affectionate gesture. "Maybe I will next time," you teased, returning his kiss with a gentle nudge.
But as much as you enjoyed the cozy moment with Kayn, you couldn't shake off the nagging feeling of responsibility weighing on your mind. With finals just around the corner, you knew you needed to make the most of every precious moment to study.
"I hate to break up the cuddle party," you said with a regretful smile, "but I really need to cook breakfast and hit the books. You want anything?"
Kayn's brows furrowed in mock disappointment, his lips forming a playful pout. "Aw, come on," he protested, tightening his hold on you as if to prevent you from leaving. "Can't you stay a little longer?"
You chuckled, gently extricating yourself from his embrace. "As much as I'd love to, I really can't afford to slack off right now," you explained, swinging your legs over the side of the bed to stand up.
"Ah, right. Your finals."
Kayn laughed, his eyes sparkling with amusement as he watched you get ready. "What's your course again?" he asked, genuine curiosity in his voice.
You paused, turning to look at him over your shoulder. "Medicine." you replied, a hint of pride creeping into your voice. "Studying to be a doctor."
"Shit, my boyfriend's gonna be a doctor." He said, like he was genuinely in awe.
A mischievous glint entered Kayn's monochromatic eyes as he sat up in bed, his interest piqued. "So, if I ever get into a fight or need patching up, I know who to call, huh?" he teased, a playful grin on his face.
You chuckled at Kayn's playful suggestion, shaking your head in mock exasperation. "I don't know, you're kind of annoying. Maybe I'll let another doctor take care of you," you teased, unable to resist poking fun at him.
Kayn feigned offense, raising an eye brow. "Hey, no fair." he frowned. "But hey, if that's the case, I'll just have to keep getting into fights and troubles so I can visit my favorite doctor."
You couldn't help but laugh at his cheeky remark, the playful banter easing any lingering tension. "You're unbelievable," you replied, rolling your eyes affectionately.
You pinched his cheek, earning an "ow" from the older male. "Now, I asked if you wanted anything for breakfast?" You asked, fixing the pillows.
"Are you available?"
You couldn't help but blush at Kayn's unexpected comment, feeling a surge of warmth spreading through you. "You're impossible," you replied, trying to hide your embarrassment with a swat at his arm.
Kayn grinned, clearly enjoying your flustered reaction. "Hey, I'm just asking," he said, raising his hands in mock surrender. "But seriously, surprise me with whatever you're cooking. I trust your culinary skills, doc."
Rolling your eyes with a smile, you grabbed a nearby pillow and playfully smacked Kayn with it. "Keep it up, and you'll get more than just a pillow to the face," you warned, glaring your eyes at him.
Kayn chuckled, dodging your playful attack with ease. "Hey, I'll take my chances," he quipped, flashing you a cheeky grin.
"Whatever. I'm going downstairs." You rolled your eyes playfully, suggesting that it's better to start preparing for breakfast rather than stay in the bed and argue with an idiot.
