Unexpectedly, Kayn's fingers flicked against your forehead, a playful yet gentle gesture that shattered the tension like a delicate glass. His lips curled into a smirk as he pulled back, the unreadable glint in his eyes replaced by a more mischievous one.
"Ow, what was that for?" you protested half-confused and half-embarassed.
"Lesson one: Don't let your guard down around me," he chided, the scolding tone softened by a playful undertone.
The air shifted, and the moment that hung between you two seemed to dissipate like the passing storm. Kayn, ever the enigmatic presence, retreated a bit, leaning back against the futon with his hands around his head while you sat on top of him.
"Seriously, though, thunder and lightning can catch you off guard. Be more careful," he advised, his tone more genuine now.
"Shut up, I hate thunderstorms." You mumbled.
Even though he didn't bring it up, he continued to let stay on top of him.
He knew that even for a bit, with him by your side, it offered solace within the storm. Something that helped you calm down.
The night pressed on, and you both found yourselves settling into a more comfortable position. The threat of the thunderstorm outside seemed distant now, replaced by the warmth within the room.
"Alright, I guess it's time for some shut-eye," Kayn yawned, stretching his arms above his head. "You're welcome to sleep beside me if you feel scared."
Before you could respond, Kayn made himself comfortable on the futon, a genuine exhaustion settling over him. The events of the evening had taken their toll, and the rockstar seemed content to embrace the simplicity of the night.
"It's okay, I can sleep on my bed." You said, letting out a soft yawn as you got off him.
As you reclined on your bed, the rhythmic drumming of rain against the window became a lullaby, soothing you into a sense of calmness.
The morning light streamed through the window, gradually rousing you from your slumber. A glance at the clock revealed that it was already well past the usual waking hours. As you stirred, you noticed Kayn on the futon, still fast asleep. The previous night's events flashed in your mind, and a subtle smile crept onto your face.
Careful not to disturb Kayn, you tiptoed out of the room, leaving him to enjoy a bit more rest. The rain had ceased, leaving behind a refreshed atmosphere. You headed to the kitchen, deciding to prepare a simple breakfast.
As the aroma of coffee filled the air, you heard Kayn's footsteps approaching. He entered the room, rubbing his eyes with a yawn. The tousled look added an endearing quality to his appearance.
"Morning," he mumbled, the fatigue in his voice hinting at the late-night discussions.
"Good morning. Coffee?" you offered, pouring a cup for him.
He nodded appreciatively, taking a sip as he settled at the table. The two of you shared a comfortable silence, the morning sunlight painting the room in a warm glow.
"So, about last night," Kayn began, his gaze thoughtful. "Thanks for letting me crash here. It's been a while since I had such a... normal night."
You chuckled, "Normal is good sometimes. By the way, you left your band last night without a word. They must've been worried."
A sheepish grin crossed Kayn's face. "Yeah, I might've forgotten to mention my impromptu stay over. They're used to my sudden disappearances, though."
"That really sounds like a 'you' thing." You snorted, sitting on the chair.
