As you sat in the kitchen, tears streaming down your face, the door to your apartment swung open. Kayn stepped inside, his usual confident demeanor replaced with something softer as he called out, “Hey! I’m home! I managed to trick those idiots into thinking I went for a bathroom break. Heh, you should've seen the look on their faces.” When silence greeted him, his brow furrowed with concern. He walked through the small living room, his senses heightened as something felt off.

As he entered the kitchen, his heart dropped at the sight before him. You were slumped in a chair, your face buried in your hands, shoulders shaking with silent sobs. Anger flared in him, a protective instinct rising. “What the fuck happened?” he demanded, his voice filled with worry. “What’s wrong?”

You looked up, eyes red and puffy, and it took everything in you not to break down further. The sight of Kayn—his expression darkening in confusion—made your heart ache. “Kayn… I—” you started, your voice trembling. “I need to tell you something.”

His intensity didn’t waver. “You can talk to me. Fuck- please. Just tell me what’s going on. Who did this to you?”

You took a deep breath, trying to steady your racing heart. “I think we need to talk about us.”

Kayn’s expression shifted, confusion morphing into concern as he approached you. “Talk about us? What do you mean? Did something happen?”

You swallowed hard, forcing the words out gently, trying to keep the conversation as calm as possible. “I think it’s best if we… if we stop this.”

Kayn’s brows knitted together, disbelief etched on his face. “What? No. You can’t be serious. Why would you say that?”

You leaned forward, desperate to keep your composure. “It’s not you, it’s me. I don’t think I’m good enough for you. I can’t handle everything that comes with being with you, Kayn.”

His frustration boiled over. “What the fuck does that mean? You think you’re not good enough? You’re more than enough! You can’t just decide to end things because you’re scared.”

“I’m not scared!” you shot back.

Lies.

Your voice rising in the heat of the moment. “I’m trying to be honest with you. I don’t want to drag you down or make you feel obligated to deal with me. You have your career, your fans. I’m just… I’m just a nobody.”

Kayn stepped closer, his expression shifting from anger to desperation. “You’re not a nobody! You’re my boyfriend. You mean something to me. I want to work through this together. We can fix it.”

“No!” you shouted, frustration pouring out. “You don’t understand! I can’t be the reason you lose everything. I don’t want to be that person for you.”

Kayn’s voice raised in protest, “So you think just running away is the answer? You’re willing to give up on us? Just like that?”

“Maybe it’s better this way!” you countered, your voice shaking. “You’ll be happier without me. Just—just let it go!”

His gaze locked onto yours, a mix of anger and hurt swirling within those intense eyes. “You don’t get to make that decision for me! I’m not giving up on you! I care too much for you to just walk away.”

You stepped back, the distance between you feeling like a chasm. “But I can’t keep pretending everything is fine! I’m not the one you deserve, Kayn! You should be with someone who can handle all of this!”

Kayn’s jaw clenched as he took a step forward, anger flashing across his features. “And what about me? What about what I fucking want? I want you, [Name]!”

As you turned away, the tension in the room thickened, each heartbeat echoing the weight of your words. Kayn’s frustration boiled over again, and he stepped forward, his voice sharp. “You don’t understand! You think running away is going to make everything better? You think you’re saving me? You’re not!”

“Stop trying to control this!” you shouted back, feeling the anger surge through you. “You don’t know what it’s like for me! You don’t know how it feels to be with someone like you!”

His eyes narrowed, confusion blending with anger. “Someone like me? What the fuck does that even mean?”

“It means you’re everything I’m not! You’re successful, talented, and people look up to you! I’m just… me!” Each word felt like a dagger, cutting deeper into your soul as you stood your ground.

Kayn shook his head, his voice rising again. “So you’re just going to give up? You think I’m some fucking god on a pedestal? I chose you for a reason! You’re not a burden. You’re my damn partner!”

“Then why do I feel like I’m dragging you down?” you snapped, unable to keep the pain from seeping through. “Why do I feel like I’m the only one holding us back?”

Kayn’s expression shifted, and in a moment of heated frustration, he said something that made your heart drop. “Maybe if you actually tried and told me what's actually bothering you, you wouldn’t be such a fucking disappointment!”

The words hung in the air, a chilling silence following his outburst. You stared at him in shock, disbelief crashing over you like a tidal wave. His voice echoed in your mind, a haunting confirmation of everything you feared.

You felt broken, shattered by the very person who had promised to love and support you. “Get out,” you whispered, your voice trembling as tears threatened to spill over. “Just get out.”

Kayn’s eyes widened, the reality of his words crashing down upon him. “Wait, I didn’t mean—”

“No! Just go!” you screamed, the anguish pouring from you like a flood. “You’ve said enough!”

He stepped back, the hurt and regret evident on his face. “I’m sorry! I didn’t mean it! I just—”

“Leave!” you yelled, your voice cracking with the weight of the emotion. “I can’t look at you right now. Just leave!”

Kayn’s expression faltered, the anger melting away into desperation. “Please, [Name], don’t do this. I didn’t mean it. I was just—”

“Just what? Mad? Frustrated?” you spat, your heart pounding in your chest. “You think that makes it okay? You can’t take those words back!”

As the silence settled again, you felt the world closing in around you. You didn’t want to fight; you didn’t want this to end. But the pain had become too much, and the idea of facing him again felt unbearable.

The finality of your words hung heavy in the air, and with a look of defeat, Kayn turned away, leaving you alone in the aftermath of the fight. You felt hollow, the weight of loss pressing down on you as you slumped into the chair, tears falling freely as the world around you blurred.

The moment you heard the door slammed shut, was the moment you felt your vision slowly dim as darkness swallowed you whole.
