"What?" Danny asked, dumbfounded.

"You. Are Not. My. Brother." Jazz said, stepping closer. "You're just some abandoned baby mom and dad found while out one day and took you home. Do you think I wanted an annoying younger sibling running around the house? This is my chance to eliminate you, and I will take it." She said before turning on her heel and marching up the stairs, leaving a speechless Danny behind.

'Abandoned? Found?' Danny thought to himself in a panic. He couldn't have been adopted; his parents would have told him. He had just turned nineteen, and surely they would have told him if he was adopted. That would have been the perfect time to tell him; he would ask them about tomorrow when they came home from wherever they were tonight.

A bit sorrowful, Danny made his way to the kitchen. He flipped on the lights and made his way to the fridge. He opened it, pulled out the leftover pizza from last night's dinner, and popped it in the microwave. He leaned on the counter, getting lost in thought. Was all of this happening to him?

The microwave beeped, and Danny jumped, being pulled from his thoughts. He took the pizza and decided to eat in his room. He climbed the stairs and made his way to his room; he paused outside Jazz's door, where he heard talking. Listening carefully, he heard Sam's name float through the door. He felt a heavy pang in his heart at the sound of his ex-girlfriend's name. He sluggishly went down the hall and entered his room, slamming and locking the door behind him.

Danny sat on his bed with his pizza in hand; he looked out the window at the falling rain and saw lightning flashing across the sky, looking like there would be a storm. Danny sniffed and felt tears run down his face; he wiped them away and picked up his pizza, taking a bite. He slowly finished his pizza and decided to take a shower before bed. He pulled out a sweater and sweatpants and went out into the hall but paused when he saw his sister standing at the other end, looking in his direction. He examined her and noticed that she was heading towards the shower; he slowly backed into his room and closed the door.

Sighing, Danny dropped the clothes at the edge of his bed before pulling off his shirt, pants, and shoes and climbing under the covers. Things will be better tomorrow, he told himself.
