Danny groaned and rolled off Vlad; pain floated through his leg, and he stood. Vlad groaned on the floor and sat up, rubbing the back of his head. "What the hell was that?" Vlad asked, standing and then helping Danny to his feet.

"We need to get out of here; the dome is going to collapse," Danny said, pulling him to the elevator. They got in and rode it down to the first floor. They got out and quickly headed for the exit but stopped at the sight waiting for them outside the door. In front of them stood his ex-sister, ex-girlfriend, and ex-best friend. Tucker, Sam, and Jazz all held what looked like ghost-hunting equipment, wearing smirks on their faces. Dan just stood there looking smug, arms folded across his chest.

"What are you guys doing here?" Danny snapped, stepping forward a little, but Vlad's grip on his arm stopped him from going too far.

"I told you, Danny, we will get rid of you," Jazz said, pointing the ghost-hunting equipment at them.

"Please, Jazz. You don't have to do this," he said, trying to reason with her. Jazz scoffed and pulled the trigger, making Vlad and Danny duck as it shattered the glass door behind them.

They both ran inside through the broken glass door and hid behind the wall. "We have to fight them," Vlad said to him, and Danny shook his head frantically. Vlad just looked at him.

"We have to, Danny; they are not giving us a choice," Vlad said, Just as a hole was blasted over their head and menacing laughter came from outside.

"Come out and play Danny, boy," Dan called, and Danny shrunk into himself.

"Danny, I need you to fight with me," Vlad said, transforming, but Danny still denied it.

"I can't, I refuse," Danny said, and Vlad snarled at him.

"Fine, stay here and be a coward," the older halfa said before turning away and going out the door.

Danny sat with his back to the wall, his head between his knees, as he listened to the sounds of fighting behind him. He wanted to help Vlad, but he couldn't. Tears ran down his face as he heard a female scream and then a loud thud; he couldn't tell if it was Jazz or Sam.

The fighting ceased, and Danny heard footsteps coming towards him. Looking up, he saw Vlad. The older man stopped in front of Danny and shook his head. "Let's go," he said, walking away. Danny hurried to his feet and hurried after him. He stepped through the hole in the wall and paused at the sight—the four lying in a pile, bloody and unconscious.

"What did you do to them?" Danny asked, looking back at the man walking towards the car.

"What had to be done," Vlad told him, opening the car door and looking at Danny expectantly. Sighing, Danny cast one last look at the pile of bodies before getting in the car.
