Vlad sighed as he stood in front of the painting he had explained to Danny a few weeks ago. The blue of the star in the center reminded him of Danny's eyes. The boy had been locked in his room for the past few days since their little moment in the kitchen. Vlad had placed food outside the door and had returned to see it eaten, so at least he knew that Danny was eating. Every day, he would knock on the door but received no answer.

He had to get Danny out of his room so he could apologize and get Danny to trust him again. He looked at the painting one last time before walking down the hall and heading to his lab. He entered the lab and sat at his desk. He picked up a tube with some red liquid inside and twirled it. He watched as the liquid changed colors as it spun, then looked over at his shelf in the corner.

His eyes caught something he had started working on but never got the chance to finish. Putting the tube back, Vlad walked over and picked it up. It was a small goo substance in a globe that took the shape of whatever the person touching it wanted and stayed like that until they wanted it to change. He looked back at the red liquid on his desk and an idea popped into his head, he brought the globe over to the table and placed it down. Then he opened a drawer and took out a tiny drill, he drilled a hole in the top of the globe then poured the goo out into a dish looking thing.

He picked up the red liquid and took up a baster. He sucked up some of the liquid in the baster, then dropped it onto the goo. He mixed them, watching as every time the goo moved, it changed color. Satisfied with his results, Vlad moved to his cabinet in the corner and pulled out another globe. He brought it back to the table and opened it. He placed the two halves on the table and poured the goo into one. He then used his heat to seal it shut. When that was done, he picked up the globe and willed it to change. The goo morphed into a flower, and the colors changed as it did goo. He returned to the shelf, picked up the stand that the goo was resting on, and exited the lab, going to Danny's room with his accomplishment in hand.

When he got to the other halfa's room, he didn't bother knocking and knew he would get an answer. He phased through the door to find Danny sitting on the bed with a laptop between his legs. Danny had earphones, so he didn't notice Vlad until he stood above him.

"Vlad," he yelped, pulling out the earphones and looking at the white-haired man.

"Hello, Danny," Vlad said, smiling at him.

"What do you want?" Danny asked, shifting himself away as he stepped closer to the bed.

"I came to apologize," Vlad said, and Danny looked at him, shocked.

"Apologize?" Danny asked, and Vlad nodded, sitting on the edge of his bed.

He held out the globe to Danny who looked at it in awe, he slowly took it from Vlad's hands and held it up to look at the flower inside.

"The rose inside morphs into whatever you want it to. All you have to do is think about it." Vlad told him, and Danny looked at him before looking back at the globe. The flower inside changed into a horse, and Danny smiled widely.

"Oh wow, Thank you, Vlad." He said, placing it on his bedside table.

"I am sorry, little badger. I should not have said what I did. I was just upset." Vlad said, reaching out and placing a hand on Danny's leg.

"It's ok, you were right, I am a coward. They betrayed me, lied to me, and killed my real parents. Yet, I still can't bring myself to hate or fight them." Danny said, looking away, and Vlad sighed.

"That doesn't make you a coward, Danny. That makes you a good person," Vlad told him. Danny looked back at him. Vlad kissed his forehead, and Danny blushed.

"What are you working on?" He asked, looking at the laptop Danny had.

"I am choosing my classes for college; I start in two weeks," Danny told him, and Vlad nodded.

"Well, I will not disturb you any longer. I will call you when dinner is done?" He asked, and Danny nodded.

Vlad stood from the bed and made his way out of the room, smirking as he did so. His plan was flowing smoothly again.
