Danny woke up in a nearly dark room. He heard footsteps coming towards him and looked in that direction. The lights came on, and Danny shielded his eyes. His eyes slowly adjusted, and he looked to see Sam standing in front of him. Jazz, Tucker, and Dan were on the other side of the room, putting together a machine.

"Curious, aren't you, Danny?" Sam asked, and Danny looked back at her, glaring.

"The machine, it's going to suck the power out of you. Put it into the four of us, and Dan will be so powerful he will be able to suck the power out of any ghost that he comes in contact with. He will make an army, and they will have to obey him. Jazz, Tucker, and I will have our little army. Going to each part of the world and causing chaos wherever we go. When the machine is done taking your powers, the orb will kill you." Sam said, and Danny looked at her, shocked.

"Why would you do this?" Danny asked, stepping closer.

"Because we are tired of following you around and watching while you have all the fun, tired of pretending to be good," Sam said.

"You won't get away with this," Danny told her, and she threw her head back and laughed.

"And who's going to stop us? Plasmius? Please, he's a villain. He'll join us," Sam sneered at him. Danny shrunk back, knowing what she said was true. Vlad wouldn't care; he would want power.

The wall above the machine exploded, and pieces fell, barely missing it. Danny heard yelling, and then his Orb began to roll. It stopped between two metal poles, and they started to glow green. Danny felt his core begin to hurt and screamed.

He heard a noise coming from all around him but couldn't make himself pay attention to it. Danny fell to his knees as the pain grew. He gripped his chest and yelled. The orb around him melted, and arms grabbed him and pulled him into a firm chest. Danny opened his eyes and looked up at Vlad, who looked down at him with worry. He looked over Vlad's shoulder and saw that the machine had melted. Jazz, Sam, Tucker, and Dan lay on the floor in many pieces, and Danny couldn't bring himself to fall for them. Taking one last look at Vlad, Danny closed his eyes.

The next time Danny woke up, it was to a familiar ceiling. Sitting up, he groaned. He heard shuffling in the room and looked over to see Vlad sleeping in a chair next to his bed. Danny slowly and silently climbed off the bed and went into the bathroom. He relieved his bladder and washed his face before taking a few seconds to look at himself in the mirror.

He exited the bathroom and saw that Vlad was now awake. He looked up as Danny exited the bathroom, but the younger halfa ignored him and climbed back into bed. "Danny, I am sorry," Vlad said, speaking softly.

Danny scoffed and turned on his side away from the other man. "I truly am Danny, and I never meant for you to get hurt." Vlad tried again.

"What did you expect? You were using me to get information, Vlad. You were playing with my feelings," Danny said, still not facing him.

"You were not supposed to find out after the plan. Then that would have been it. I would have defeated them, and then,"

"Then you would have no use for me anymore. I get it."

"No, you don't understand," Vlad said, and Danny sat up and turned to face him.

"What don't I get Vlad?" Danny asked, glaring at him.

"You're my home," Vlad said, and Danny paused.

"What?" He asked, confused.

"You're my home. My blue star. I didn't notice till a few hours after you left when I did. I left right away to try and find you." Vlad told him.

Danny sat up full and hung his legs over the edge, facing Vlad. "Do you mean that?" Danny asked, and Vlad looked up at him, looking right into his eyes.

"I do." He said, and Danny smiled, seeing the truth in his eyes.

He stood and walked over to Vlad, sitting on his lap and kissing him, "You're my home too, Vlad." He said. Vlad squeezed him tight, burying his face in Danny's neck. They stay in each other's arms for hours, happy that they have finally found their home.
