Distance, Time and Space

Chapter 1

Kyo is walking from school on the side of the road, minding his own business. He was using his phone while walking—his typical routine for his walk.

"Boring... What should I play later?" 

A heavy sigh is released by him. It's so loud that even a meter away, you can hear it.

"Life never changes. Perhaps my life never changes? Will my life keep being like this forever? Forever alone? Arghhh... Thinking that way won't change anything anyway."

He was bothered by this. Being alone, having no friends, being excluded. He was not like this before, he doesn't even care if people like him or not. But when time passed, he realized... He realizes that it's so lonely.

He has his family, but it's not that they will always be there when he needs them. Everyone has their own job to do, and he doesn't want to bother those who are dear to him. He needs to be independent and not become a burden.

He frowned as he put his phone in his pocket, staring at the road he's walking on. Looking down, trying not to have any eye contact with people. Avoiding them is an easier task than being with them, he thinks. He always thinks he's different from others, and not everyone will understand his uniqueness. 

He was still walking, not thinking of anything, until he bumped into someone... And this might be really bad.

"Ughh!"

"Hey freak! Are you blind, huh?"

"S-sorry"

"What?! You're looking down, so it's expected that you're looking your way. Is this intentional?!"

A man who is taller and bulkier than him is in front of him, with three people behind him. This is a misunderstanding, he didn't mean to bump into him. This is bad... All he did was to avoid people, but even though that didn't turn out right, he tried his best not to involve himself in others... But what will happen now?

He stepped backward to widen the space between them, trying to calm down to solve this problem. But that didn't solve the case, as the men stepped forward.

"S-sorry I-I didn't mean it"

He looked around and noticed that the people who were supposed to be passing by were now staring at him. His vision of them is not clear but blurry. He's not used to being stared at like this, he felt overwhelmed. 

No, don't look at me, stop staring at me! Why are you staring at me? It's not my fault! It was an accident! That was what he was thinking as he kept stepping backward... Then he ran away.

He ran really fast, like his life depended on it. He's sweating cold, panting, and scared. Not because of those guys, but because people around him are staring at him that way.

"Fuck! Why did I runaway? Now they'll keep chasing me"

He's breathing aggressively and running at the same time.

"I can't handle that pressure, staring at me as if it's my fault! Fuck! Seriously, what's wrong with my life?!"

He keeps running, whatever happens, he won't stop. He doesn't care who he bumps into while running, he just doesn't want to get caught by those guys. Suddenly, someone grabbed him and pulled him into a corner, covering his mouth from behind.

"Where is he? Did you see where he went?"

"I don't know... Let's go that way."

The men who were chasing him ran a different route. He felt relief from what happened, but a new problem arose.

"Try making a fuss, and I'll snap your neck real quick." 

A deep and cold voice came from the man who was covering his mouth from behind. He stops moving, he even tries to calm down to control his breathing. He can't move, thinking any movement will end his life. Fuck! My life is so messed up! he thinks. He closed his eyes, his hand was shacking, even his knees, but he didn't hesitate to take off the hand of the man.

"If it's money... I have in my pocket, you can have it all"

You can tell, even by his voice, that he's scared. But he's brave enough to talk to a stranger. The man put his right forearm on Kyo's right shoulder as he leaned forward, beside Kyo's face, staring at him. But not a long time passed, and the man talked.

"Hahaha... Seriously, man, you're scared of that?"

"What?"

Kyo was still breathing heavily and took a glance at the man. He's kind of hesitant, but it sounds like the man knew him. 

"Hey, Kyo~~"

The man smirked as he stared at Kyo. He's staring at the man, thinking he's quite familiar... His eyes seem like he saw them before... Ocean eyes... Wait!

"Ren?!"
