We felt deeply for one another,
And yet got on with each other.
We often played as husband and wife,
And yet did not quarrel or come to blows,
We rejoiced and tenderly kissed and embraced each other.
Finally in childish glee,
We played hide and seek in my dad’s bedroom,
And we were so good at hiding that we shall never find each other again.
