"Cyberbullying is a no laughing matter. Sending a cruel message to someone online can be just as hurtful as saying it to their face. I'm not gonna name names, but the other day a mother called me up because her son was crying after some kids online made fun of his facial deformity." The councellor announced into the microphone.
Lucky rolled her eyes, annoyed at the poor attempt of keeping Eli anonymous.Clearly other kids caught on too as there were mutters throughout the canteen.
"It's the kid right there."
"It's the kid with the weird lip."
Eli looked around, hiding his face.
"But today, our goal here is to make our school a safe space for all students." She went on with a wide smile. As she rambled on Lucky tuned her out, while pushing around her food with her fork. That was until she caught her attention, "One last thing, while we're all looking forward to the halloween dance, let's make sure our costumes are culturally sensitive." Lucky furrowed her brows, not quite knowing what that meant.
"For example, instead of 'sexy nurse', maybe try 'gender-nuetral hospital employee'." Lucky laughed along with most people. As if.Halloween was the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it! Why would you waste that?
"Instead of a geisha..." Counslor Blatt went on.
Aisha caught Lucky's attention as she moved her chair over toward Sam. "Hey! I got a great idea for our costume this year." Lucky could see where this was going and fixed her posture while clearing her throat. "Uhm.." Sam tried to get a sentence out before Aisha interrupted. "I was thinking I go as sodium and you go as chloride. And when people ask us what we are, we do this." Sam laughed as Aisha shook salt everywhere.
Lucky,Moon and Yasmine looked at eachother in confusion. Did we miss something?
"What is that, some kind of inside joke you guys have?" Yasmine asked, surprisingly being nice about it. "I mean, it's not really 'inside'. Sodium chloride is table salt." She chuckled, as if it were so obvious.
Yasmine lent back to her seat with a defensive look, "Yeah, i was...kidding" Lucky laughed abit, making sure to not draw to much attention. Everyone knew she wasn't, but you couldn't blame her.
After a few seconds of awkward silence, Sam spoke up breaking the news to Aisha. "We actually decided to go as Laker Girls."
"Oh." Aisha nodded her head. Lucky offered a smile. "But we can order another one." "They're one-size-fits-all," Yasmine piped in, making Lucky groan internally. "which suddenly seems like false advertising." What a bitch.Aisha moved back to where she was originally, Sam looking back at her.

Lucky, Moon, Sam and Yasmine were all at the halloween dance in their laker girls costumes.
Lucky, Moon and Sam all wearing the same: a purple and yellow short pleated skirt. The top being a fitted shirt with the words "GO TEAM" written across the front. With matching pom-poms.
Where Yasmine was wearing blue, yellow and white mini shorts. The top being a fitted shirt with the same colours and the words "LAKERS" written accross the front.
The four of them giggled and danced to the music with a few of their other friends.
Sam messaging her dad "your a ghost" as he was a chaperone, before going off to dance with Kyler.
Lucky, seeing Sam go over to Aisha decided to check on her too. She felt bad after what happened at lunch.
