It was the day, Easter, to be exact. It was a few minutes past midnight, and Bunny, North, and Jack were standing in the office.

North handed Bunny a necklace and nodded to him. Bunny looked at Jack who was standing beside him. He gave him a small smile before pulling the necklace.

Gray-blue sparkles started to twinkle around him, and fur sprouted from Bunny's skin as his body changed back into a large Bunny.

Jack looked up at him with a smile before reaching up and running a hand through his fur. "You're like my own giant teddy bear," he mumbled, and Bunny's nose wiggled.

"Sure," he said, looking at North. "We should get going; we need to hide the eggs before Pitch gets to attack," he said, and the two nodded.

Bunny tapped his foot and a tunnel opened up. They popped up a few minutes later and got to work.

Tooth was there too, she helped lead the eggs through the tunnel with Jack, while Bunny and North hid them. It was an all-day job, which Jack was happy for. It kept Tooth from flirting with him.

By the time it got dark and the last egg was found, Bunny and North had come back through the tunnels. Jack smiled at the exhausted-looking pooka.

Bunny reached up in his fur and unclasped the necklace North had given him, making Jack frown. Sparkles surrounded Bunny, and once again, he was human.

"B-but? How?" Jack stuttered out, looking at him wide-eyed.

"I know you like me better this way, so I asked North to try a different spell," Bunny said, and Jack giggled, throwing himself into Bunny's arms and kissing him.

They heard a gasp but ignored it. They pulled away, and Bunny placed Jack on the ground and kissed his forehead.

"You're dating Bunny?" Tooth's voice came, and Jack looked over at her.

"Yup, and we have kids, too," He said happily, and Tooth frowned.

"So you were leading me on?" She asked, and Jack frowned.

"I wasn't leading you on. I don't remember ever telling you or giving you any indication that I had any sort of affection for you besides friends," He said. And Tooth huffed before flying off.

"I told her to back off," North said. "I guess she didn't learn." He said while taking out a snow globe and stepping through.

Jack and Bunny walked back to their home.

"It's odd; we didn't even catch a glance of Pitch today," Jack said, and Bunny shrugged.

Meanwhile

Pitch sat on a roof hidden in the dark, watching the sandman do his work.

A nightmare came up beside him, and Pitch sighed and petted it. "How are people supposed to overcome their fears if they don't face them? If they only have happy dreams, they'll always be afraid. My nightmares used to do that and helped them overcome their fears. Be better. People can't be happy all the time." He said, and the nightmare horse neighed, making Pitch sigh.

"Now it's his job," he said looking up at the sandman, "The man who broke my heart for people who don't even appreciate his work, most don't even believe in him. It's always the Easter Bunny, or North, or Tooth Fairy." Pitch said, looking back at his nightmare Pitch sighed.

Pitch vanished and appeared in his home, it wasn't what others thought it would be. It was actually pretty homey. With colors and everything. He took off his robe and threw it over the hook By the door before coughing.

A little bit of blood splattered onto his palm and Pitch sighed. It's been happening ever since the big fight five years ago.

He knew what was happening. It happened to many before him. When you are a Guardian, and people stop believing in you. And you are not needed/wanted anymore.

You fade away.

And Pitch was neither needed nor was he wanted.
