Yoongi POVNine weeks passed by so fast—well, to me, they did, but to Namjoon, they were nine long, excruciating weeks of his life. He moped around, saying Jungkook hadn't texted him back in days, and the only reason he knew he was coming back was because of the managers telling us.
We pulled our little bit of money together and planned a welcome-back party for Jungkook. We got a bunch of balloons, and Hoseok made a banner out of printer paper and markers. He taped it to the wall in the living room, saying it was a work of art.
Seokjin made Chuncheon dakgalbi for everyone; he was always proud of his dish, and he was excited to meet Jungkook.
Namjoon changed his outfit five times and spent way too long in the bathroom combing his hair; we all teased him. Finally, we got a message that he was on his way up from the manager, so we all gathered in the living room and waited.
The door jingled, and it popped open, revealing a very different-looking Jungkook.
"Surprise!" We yelled, and he froze at the door, eyes scanning the room. "Welcome back, Jungkookie!" Hoseok yelled, hugging the boy tight.
He laughed and hugged Hoseok back. "Hyung's Jesus, you didn't have to do all this for little me." Jungkook joked
I approached him after Hoseok let go as well and ruffled his hair. "Damn Kook! You're almost as tall as me now! What were you eating in LA?" I said, and he huffed and swatted my hand away.
"You're not that tall, Hyung, so it's not that big of an achievement." He said I scoffed and flicked his forehead.
"Yah! You brat!" I said, and Jungkook looked so different before. He was cute and small, but now he is taller and older. He was in LA for his birthday. He is now 15; he is tan like the sun-kissed him. He was physically glowing, and he seemed more confident and relaxed.
Namjoon shoved his way through everyone, literally pushing me aside, and he stood in front of Jungkook, his eyes wide. "Oh wow," he whispered out, looking at Jungkook. "You're back," he smiled.
"Hyung," Jungkook murmured softly, still blushing whenever Namjoon talked to him.
Namjoon didn't say anything; he just dove to hug Jungkook so tight, and Jungkook hugged him back. The moment seemed so intimate that I wanted to look away, but I also couldn't.
"You were gone way too long, Kook-ah" Namjoon whispered, still hugging him. Jungkook chuckled.
"I know Hyung, but I wanted to be perfect for the team. I worked hard and stayed focused," Jungkook said when they let go, but Namjoon cupped his face.
"You're already perfect," Namjoon whispered, and this made Jungkook blush even more.
A loud cough was heard, and we all snapped our heads towards Seokjin, who was standing in the kitchen with arms crossed. "This is all so cute, but my delicious food is getting cold," Seokjin said.
