After being in the closet which felt like forever, everything finally became silent. For the first time in a while me and Blaize finally let go of each other and slowly opened the door. Everything was a mess, it's crazy how the closet went untouched.

Suddenly I get a call on my cellphone, it's my mom.

"Mom? Are you okay?"

"Yes, Hunny me and your father are fine however I have some news for you," she says.

I tilt my head a bit and then put my phone on speaker.

"What is it, mom?" I ask.

"Me and your father aren't together anymore. I'm in love with my best friend" she says kind of giddy like

"You mean Veronica? Wait I'm confused this is all so sudden" I say.

"I know that it's a bit sudden, but some things just aren't meant to be and besides, your father is with Clark now, you know they work at the Office together. Honestly, it's like a breath of fresh air" she said happily before her tone changed. "You better not be going around with no boys you hear me?" She says sternly.

"Uh probably won't Mom but thanks for the advice anyway," I say laughing a little bit.

"Oh, you think this is funny? Oh, honey don't you know what they have started doing to those who like the opposite sex? This is no laughing matter. I love you but at the end of the day if you can't control the urge to be attracted to men then you deserve what comes to you" she says in a complete change of tone. I've never heard her speak this way to me even if I got in trouble growing up which was rarely.

"Um... okay Mom I will take that into consideration, love you bye," I said as I hung up before she could respond. So much was going through my head at that moment, my parents were splitting up, we just had a major catastrophic windstorm, and I don't know what he meant by "Then you deserve what comes to you."

"Blue? Hey, blue... are you okay?" Blaize says as he puts his hand on my shoulder.

"Oh... yeah, I'm okay just really confused I guess."

Before Blaize could respond two officers entered the room, they looked different though. They both dressed the same in casual police gear however they seemed much more armored as well as they were wearing cloth masks that covered their mouths and came down past their neck. When they spoke, it sounded like they were talking through a walkie-talkie or speaker of some sort even though they weren't holding anything to their mouth.

"You two are not hurt, medical evaluation not needed, provide a reason to how male specimen and female specimen not injured," One officer said, his voice was emotionless but stern.

"We hid in the closet back here, somehow it went undamaged" Blaize stated. The officers both looked at each other before turning back to look at us. "Reason accepted, are you two a straight couple?" The second officer asks. Baffled we look at each other "No officer, we are just friends, we work here together... why does that matter?" I ask.

"Straight couples are against the law, we are dealing with those whose instinct is to love the opposite sex who were born biologically one or the other. You two have stated you are friends and so you will not receive punishment unless we see otherwise. We will now continue our hunt, good day to you both" The Officers turn and walk out creepily in sync.

"You know at this point nothing surprises me but NOW I see what my mom means. I'm confused though. Did the storm make the roles reversed? Are we now living in a world where being straight is a crime? I mean being a part of the LGBT is not a crime in most places but it's bad enough that they already go through so much" Iris sighs curls up in a ball and looks down. Blaize began to reach over to comfort but then realized what the Officers said.

"Hey on the bright side, we weren't affected, right? I mean...it's not like it would be a terrible thing because I have nothing against that but also that does mean we have to be cautious, I guess our date is off then" Blaize said as he looked down at his shoes I got look at him and tried to smile a bit "We can't go out to a restaurant but we can always order pizza and just hang out at my place or your place if you want, being friends is not a crime anyways it's not like we are together"

Blaize chuckled "Yeah that is true Blue, friends are allowed to hang out and stuff but if any officers think even in the slightest, we date it may be the end of us, so we have to be careful."

And from that day on, nothing has been the same.
